Danault (head) will not be available against the Islanders on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Considering the significance of Danault's injury, fantasy owners probably shouldn't have expected him to be in the lineup Monday. The team did not provide a specific update on when the center might be available, but it's hard to imagine it will be a short-term absence. Logan Shaw was claimed off waivers to help fill out the roster in the meantime.

Danault was struck in the head by a Zdeno Chara slap shot late in the second period Saturday, and was stretchered off the ice.
EDGE Analysis
In a relatively scary moment in the Bell Centre, Danault originally got back up to his knees shortly after the incident, but couldn't fully regain his balance and had to lay back down before being stretchered off, Eric Engels of Sportsnet.ca reports. Then in a rare occasion, both teams went to the locker room and the game was momentarily paused while Danault was tended to by the trainers off the ice. It's unclear at the moment how severe the injury is and his status should be updated shortly, but if he's unable to go Monday against the Islanders, Tomas Plekanec figures to slide up to the first line while Bryon Froese should center the fourth unit.

Danault scored his seventh goal of the season and added an assist in Tuesday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Danault has really picked up the pace this month, racking up four goals and nine points in his last nine games. The second-line center isn't seeing much power-play time, but he's been producing consistently after a 40-point breakout campaign in 2016-17. As long as he sticks in the top-six, the 24-year-old should continue producing at a solid pace.

Danault scored a goal on four shots while adding two hits and a blocked shot in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
Danault's late third-period goal was a garbage-time special, coming off a bouncing puck long after the Canadiens ceded this contest to Edmonton. Fortunately, they don't take off fantasy points for goals that aren't meaningful. It was Danault's second marker in as many games and third in the last six, a stretch in which he's posted six points.

Danault scored a goal on three shots and added a blocked shot in 18:47 of ice time in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Danault redirected a Max Pacioretty backhander to give Montreal a 2-1 lead midway through the second period. It was the fifth goal of the season for the Quebec native, who has five points (two goals, three assists) over the last five games. As long as he's saddled to captain Max Pacioretty, Danault will get plenty of ice time (17:44 TOI/G).
