Paul Postma returned to Winnipeg's lineup with a bang Tuesday night with two goals in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders. It was his first game since March 24 and he got back into action due to an injury to Grant Clitsome. Postma has eight points in 26 games with the Jets. Eric Tangradi picked up an assist on both of his goals.

Paul Postma entered the Jets' lineup with Tobias Enstrom hurt. After a first period in which coach Claude Noel said he looked "nervous," Postma settled in, finishing with 20:20 of ice time. He has five points in 13 games and his performance could be a big factor in Winnipeg's success.

According to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press, defenseman Paul Postma could be an interesting trade candidate for the Jets. Winnipeg was rumored to be talking trade with a number of teams over the weekend and Postma's name has come up in discussions. The Jets have a bit of a logjam on the back end led by Tobias Enstrom, Dustin Byfuglien and Zach Bogosian. Bogosian is set to return from off-season wrist surgery soon and an NHL executive said this past weekend that "The ascension of (Zach) Redmond puts the Jets in a strong position." If the team wants to shake up their personnel then Postma may be able to fetch a decent return because he has some offensive upside and is a restricted free agent at the end of this season.

Jets' rookie defenseman Paul Postma has exhibited some of his offensive potential recently. He scored a goal and added two assists in Winnipeg's 8-3 loss to Tampa Friday and now has five points in eight NHL games. Postma was a scoring star with the Calgary Hitmen in junior hockey registering 126 points in 136 games over two seasons. He also posted some impressive numbers in the AHL with 136 points in 215 games over three plus seasons. Postma seems to be getting power-play ice time and may be a nice depth defenseman pickup.

Paul Postma recorded his first NHL point in Monday afternoon's 2-1 shootout loss to Boston. He helped set up a goal by Chris Thorburn prior to the two-minute mark of the opening period. Postma logged 11:25 of ice time in the contest after he played 16:46 on Saturday versus Ottawa. He has six games of NHL experience now.

Paul Postma could be a player to watch at training camp for the Jets. The team needs to replace Zach Bogosian, who is recovering from a wrist injury, on the roster for the start of the year and Postma could fit the bill. He got a one-way deal with the team this past summer and signed a minor-league contract once the lockout begun to stay fresh with AHL St. John's. He has produced seven goals and 11 assists in 27 games this season. His IceCaps teammate Zach Redmond, who has eight markers and 17 points in 34 contests, may also get a look for the position.

Paul Postma sniped a goal, but St. John's fell to Springfield on Saturday night 4-2. It was the blueliner's fourth goal and tenth point of the season. Postma remains a work in progress defensively, but he has considerable upside offensively with a heavy shot that could make him an asset on the man advantage.

Paul Postma had an assist on the only goal for St. John in its 2-1 loss to Hamilton on Wednesday night. Postma, a seventh-rounder from the 2007 draft, has five points on the season for the Jets' AHL affiliate. With a booming shot, he has the makings of being a great power-play producer on defense.

Paul Postma had an assist in St. John's 4-3 loss to Albany in a shootout Friday night. Known most for his big shot from the point and offensive side, Postma has only appeared in six games this year but does have three points. He's hoping to make the Jets if and when an NHL season gets underway and now's the time to show what he's got.

Paul Postma is looking to stay fresh in the AHL, with his goal of reaching the NHL once a season gets under way. With a wrist injury to Zach Bogosian and a one-way contract for himself, Postma looked to be a near certainty for the Jets' roster. Now, though, he'll bide his time in the AHL, readying himself for his NHL chance. "My whole thought process is to do the best wherever you are," said Postma, who had no points in three games with the Jets last season. "If there was a place you'd pick to play in the AHL, I'd pick St. John's every time." The 23-year-old had 44 points in 56 games in the AHL last season, and he was pointless in three games with the Jets.
