Chicago left winger Patrick Sharp hasn't scored a goal in seven games. Said Sharp: "I've been in situations like this before. I'm going to remain confident and keep shooting the puck. I'll get open, and hopefully one goes in." No goals since Jan. 24 against the Stars doesn't mean Sharp hasn't been effective in the offense. The veteran has five assists during the span, with three coming against the Coyotes - including a terrific cross-ice pass to Patrick Kane. "I told (Kane) on the bench that's the first time he ever came to me after a goal and said, 'Nice pass,' " Sharp said. "Usually, it's the other way around."

Patrick Sharp recorded three assists on Thursday. Sharp has been a reliable goal scorer for years, but this season he's contributing in different ways. He has two goals and 11 points in 11 games this season. In the long run he should find the back of the net with more regularity, but either way he's a top player.

Patrick Sharp scored a goal and added two assists in the Chicago Blackhawks' 3-2 overtime victory over the Stars in Dallas Thursday night. Marian Hossa scored the game-winning goal -- his fifth of the early season -- for the 4-0 Hawks on a power play in overtime. All three of Chicago's goals were scored on power plays. Sharp notched his second goal of the season as did Chicago captain Jonathan Toews. Patrick Kane picked up two assists for the winners. The Hawks trailed the Stars 2-0 until Sharp's goal at 15:57 of the second period.

Patrick Sharp will have to adjust quickly after opting not to sign in Europe or elsewhere during the lockout. "It's going to be tough that there's no preseason games," Sharp said. "(It's) whoever can adjust the quickest and get off to a great start ... But once you get into the swing of things it's business as usual." Sharp is usually a reliable scorer, but he's one of the players should should feel a tad uncomfortable with going into the season. He should adjust quickly, but we wouldn't be surprised if he gets off to a cold start.

Patrick Sharp is considering playing for a team in Switzerland. Sharp still hasn't made a commitment and is "waiting to see what happens" with the negotiations. The CBA talks have stalled lately and we might see another round of cancellations next week.

Patrick Sharp and Chicago captain Jonathan Toews will participate in a "Champs for Charity" game scheduled for Oct. 26 at Allstate Arena. Former Blackhawks Brian Campbell and Adam Burish are also slated to take part in the event if a quick resolution to the lockout isn't reached. The contest will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.

Patrick Sharp is still optimistic about the chances of the NHL and union agreeing to a new CBA in the not too distant future. "I remain optimistic," Sharp said. "I'm hoping both sides can make some progress. It has been frustrating. Individually, I've been able to improve from season to season, the guys in Chicago are excited about coming back and building off the last two seasons. To have everything put on hold is definitely disappointing." The two sides are scheduled to meet on Friday, but they aren't expected to discuss the core economic issues.

Patrick Sharp has a European spot in mind, but he's not ready to make the move just yet. Sharp said he plans on waiting until mid-November to make a decision. He also reiterated the stance of many of the players: "I've never seen the NHLPA this strong before -- I'm proud to be a part of it." If that's truly the case, the union won't be caving to the owners' demands any time soon.

Patrick Sharp stated Sunday that he would consider playing in Europe if the NHL lockout extends into the season. Sharp stated "If that needs to be an option, certainly", giving the impression that his preference is definitely to play in the NHL, but that he's willing to explore opportunities across the Atlantic in the face of an extended work stoppage. Teammates Dave Bolland and Jamal Mayers echoed Sharp's comments when asked the same question.

Patrick Sharp says his wrist is good after playing the second half of the season with a broken bone in his left wrist. Sharp was injured on January 8 and returned on the 31st, but he certainly was not 100 percent upon his return. He was healthy enough to play for Team Canada at the World Championships in May and will be at 100 percent for training camp in September. Look for a 35-40 goal season in 2012-13 from the Chicago forward if he is able to be injury-free.
