Patrick Kane might serve as a left winger when Jonathan Toews returns. Kane has already played as both a center and right winger this season. "Whatever the position, it doesn't really matter as long as we have the puck and we're working hard and trying to make plays," Kane said. He's primarily known as a right winger, but he's displayed a lot of versatility this season. He has 23 goals and 65 points in 80 games this season.

Patrick Kane has 10 goals in his last 17 games. Kane has done a great job of stepping up while Jonathan Toews has been out with a concussion, but this season has been a mild disappointment overall. "It's nice to finish off strong," Kane said. "I hope I can continue this in the playoffs and continue it throughout playoffs. That's my goal, to kind of make up for the season I had." Kane needs five points in Chicago's final two contests to reach the 70-point point for a fifth straight season.

Patrick Kane scored a pair of goals in the Blackhawks' 5-4 shootout loss to Minnesota Sunday. With 65 points on the season, Kane needs a strong finish to avoid missing the 70-point plateau for the first time in his career. Patrick Sharp and Viktor Stalberg also scored in the Chicago defeat.

Look for Patrick Kane to be extra motivated Sunday night against the Predators. Last time the Hawks faced the Preds Nashville coach Barry Trotz suggested that Kane didn't play a complete game as he "cheated" defensively. Kane didn't take kindly to these comments. It will be interesting to see how Kane responds to this criticism. It might be a good night to make sure the talented forward is in your lineup.

Patrick Kane netted his 20th goal of the season on Wednesday. Kane has now reached the 20-goal mark in each of his first five seasons. However, he has a lot of work cut out for him if he also wants to get to the 70-point milestone for the fifth consecutive campaign. Kane has 60 points in 75 games this season.

Patrick Kane is having one of the best starts to a career of any Chicago Blackhawks player from a playmaking perspective. The team points out that two Blackhawks have started their careers with five straight seasons of at least 40 assists: Kane and Denis Savard. That's definitely impressive company.

Coach Joel Quenneville has been pleased with the leadership role taken on by Patrick Kane. Kane has come into his own, especially since captain Jonathan Toews suffered a concussion 13 games ago. "I like the fact that he's absorbing responsibility without Johnny around," Quenneville said. "He knows the importance of the situation with our team, where we we're at and where we are today. He wants to make an impact on games and it's been noticeable." Kane has nine points in his last nine games centering Andrew Brunette and Marian Hossa.

Patrick Kane had an assist on Tuesday. Kane has three goals and five points in his last five games. In terms of points per game, this season will be a clear step down from 2010-11, but Kane should finish the campaign on a high note.

Patrick Kane scored in the Blackhawks' 3-2 shootout loss to Los Angeles Sunday night. Kane's goal was his 18th of the year, but his scoring pace remains well behind that of his past few seasons. Once Jonathan Toews returns, we expect him to heat up considerably. Marcus Kruger scored the other Chicago goal in the losing effort.

Patrick Kane is happy with his play as of late, even if fantasy owners might not be. "I know I'm not blowing them out of the water with points or goals, but I'm playing probably my best hockey of the year as far as puck possession, making plays, creating chances and having the puck off the rush," said Kane. He has two goals and four points in his last eight games. With Jonathan Toews out, Kane has been serving as the team's first line center and has also taken a more active leadership role. Kane's been less impressive from a statistic perspective, but we think he'll bounce back in the near future.
