Patrick Kane had a hat trick in Chicago's 4-3 double-overtime victory Saturday night.
Just a few days ago, Chicago coach Joel Quenneville was talking about how he was looking for more out of Kane. He certainly got it tonight. Kane's third goal was the game-winner at 11:40 of the second overtime period. Duncan Keith scored the Blackhawks' other goal in his return from a one-game suspension. Bryan Bickell and Jonathan Toews each registered two assists for Chicago. With this victory, the Blackhawks have eliminated the Los Angeles Kings and have advanced to the Stanley Cup finals. Chicago will be going for their second Stanley Cup win in just four years.

Patrick Kane wants the Chicago Blackhawks to treat Saturday's contest as Game 7.
Chicago will get three chances to eliminate the Los Angeles Kings, but each time they fail, they'll have to travel from Chicago to Los Angeles or vice versa. "It's not a fun travel day to do all of that so, if anything, that should be motivation to not go through that again," Kane said. If Chicago advances, travel will be less of an issue against the Boston Bruins.

Defenseman Michal Rozsival said he told Patrick Kane during the first intermission of Game 4 in the Western Conference final Thursday night that he would end his scoring drought with a goal.
"Every time he was out there it seemed he had the puck. You could see the energy in him, the way he was skating and controlling the play," Rozsival said. "I'm glad he (got that goal) and it's great to see him scoring. He's the guy we definitely need to be successful." Kane has been struggling, and his second-period goal against the LA Kings Thursday snapped a seven-game skid without one. It was also one of several signs that Kane was getting closer to being Kane again. "Kaner wanted the puck, he had it early and had it a lot," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said. "He was dangerous off the rush and took shots through screens. It was nice to see him score as well."

Patrick Kane ended his goal scoring drought on Thursday.
Kane hadn't found the back of the net since May 20 before he scored a key goal late in the second period. That sparked Chicago's turnaround in a 3-2 victory over Los Angeles in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals. Before the game, Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said he was "looking for a little more" from Kane. He got it.

Patrick Kane knows he needs to make some adjustments after recording just two assists in his last seven games.
Kane's last goal was scored on May 20. "I think we all want the puck, we all want to make plays. But sometimes we get guilty of waiting for it and standing around," Kane said. "That's where I want to improve: be patient, but when the opportunity's there, go and get it." Chicago coach Joel Quenneville is "looking for a little more" from Kane in Game 4. He's not a bad bet to bounce back on Thursday.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said the team is "looking for a little more" from Patrick Kane heading into Game 4 against Los Angeles.
That may be a bit of understatement considering Kane hasn't scored a goal since Game 3 against Detroit and has only two assists in his past seven playoff outings. Kane was outstanding during the regular season, while averaging 1.17 points per game, but he's been far less efficient in the postseason.

Patrick Kane has only one assist in his last three games.
Kane did not have a good offensive Round 2 as he had only two goals and two assists in seven games against the Red Wings after picking up five assists in five games against the Minnesota Wild in the opening round of the playoffs. He is certainly shooting the puck as he had 15 shots on goal in the final three games so it looks like it's just a matter of time until he breaks loose.

Patrick Kane anticipates the Detroit Red Wings playing hard after losing Game 5.
"Tonight's going to be even tougher," Patrick Kane said of Monday's contest. "We're on the road against a team that plays well here. For us, we have to try to seize the momentum we have (from Game 5) and take it over into Game 6. It was fun playing that Game 5. That's how we need to play. We had close to 50 shots, every line was rolling and we got some power-play goals. Hopefully we can get momentum tonight." Chicago will likely maintain its loaded top line of Kane, Patrick Sharp, and Jonathan Toews.

With the Blackhawks down 3-1 in their second-round series, Patrick Kane wants to keep things simple heading into Game 5.
"There's still a lot of belief in this room," Kane said. "It's easy to say you can go on a three-game winning streak but that's not what we're looking at right now. We're looking at one game at a time. We have a great opportunity at home where we've been pretty good all year to win a game. That's all we have to worry about right now is Game 5 and try to get ourselves back in the series." Detroit's is obviously in a great position, but the Blackhawks have the talent necessary to fight back. Game 5 is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET Saturday night.

Patrick Kane scored a goal for the second straight game in Monday's Game 3.
Kane hadn't scored in the postseason before Saturday afternoon but appears to be finding his touch in this series. Unfortunately for Kane, the Blackhawks have lost both games in which he's scored and now trail the series 2-1 with Game 4 in Detroit on Thursday. Kane will likely need to have a strong offensive game again Thursday night if the Hawks are to even the series.
