The Blackhawks have shuffled their forward lines for Saturday's contest against Toronto.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews have been split up. Kane will play alongside Patrick Sharp and Michal Jandzus, while Toews will skate between Brandon Saad and Marian Hossa. We don't believe this will change any fantasy values as all of these players were top six players before the shuffle.

Patrick Kane is well past his boyhood dream of playing for the Buffalo Sabres.
"It was a dream up until you get drafted and you start your career here," Kane said. "I'm pretty content with where I am in my career, especially being here in Chicago." Kane is signed until the summer of 2015 and then he'll have an opportunity to play for whatever team he wants. That being said, it's very likely that the Chicago Blackhawks will re-sign him well before he reaches the free agent market. Along with Jonathan Toews, Kane is one of the cornerstones of the Blackhawks' franchise.

Patrick Kane registered a goal for the Blackhawks in their 2-1 win over the Sabres on Saturday night.
The talented winger has four goals on the season, and should be primed for 30-40 goals this season. Ben Smith notched the other goal for Chicago. Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Sharp and Andrew Shaw recorded the assists.

Patrick Kane registered a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.
The power play goal was the third of the year for Kane in as many games. Jonathan Toews also picked up a goal and an assist in the losing effort while linemate Patrick Sharp drew assists on each of the tallies.

Patrick Kane sniped a goal for Chicago, but it was bested in a shootout 3-2 by the Lightning on Saturday night.
Kane now has goals in both games this season. With more maturity and focus, this could be the season Kane really takes off. He could easily pot 30-plus and contribute on a point-per-game basis. Brandon Saad recorded the other goal for Chicago. Niklas Hjalmarsson, Nick Leddy and Bryan Bickell had the assists.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville envisions Patrick Kane being in the race for the Art Ross Trophy this year and possibly winning it if the Blackhawks' power play is successful.
"Perennially, he's up there at the top of the league," Quenneville said. "If you look back at the last couple of years, our power play hasn't been as it could be or should or is going to be. Let's hope it's great this year. If our power play is great (and) he's a big part of that, his numbers will ... be near the top." Kane scored his first goal of the season and had five shots in a 6-4 win over Washington on Tuesday night.

Patrick Kane has some areas of his game that he hopes to improve on this year.
"You always want to improve your speed and your strength; I'd like to be better in the one-on-one battles this year and make sure I'm coming away with those pucks," said Kane. "I feel like when I do get the time and space, I can make some plays, so I can be a little bit better in that. I think I'm getting better defensively as time goes on here at camp, whether it's stripping pucks or blocking passes, but you want to do something with those opportunities. All around, from top to bottom, you want to just keep getting better - shot, stickhandling, speed, strength, defensive, everything." He finished fifth overall in league scoring last year, with 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists) in 47 games.

Patrick Kane doesn't want to focus on getting a contract extension from Chicago yet.
Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman declared his intention last week to keep Kane and Jonathan Toews in the fold for a long time. "That's what you hope for - that's obviously the ultimate goal, to win championships and play for an organization like this," Kane said. "But I'm still a young kid, I'm 24. I'm turning 25 this year, and to say what's going to happen the rest of my career, I just don't know. It'd be ideal to stay here, but we'll cross that path when we get to it." Kane and Toews have contracts that don't expire until the summer of 2015.

The Chicago Blackhawks are confident that they'll be able to re-sign Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews when the time comes.
Toews and Kane's contracts aren't up until the summer of 2015, but the subject has been raised by Chicago's recent long-term deals. The team now has about 36.6 million committed to just seven players in 2015-16. "Those two players put the Blackhawks back on the map, they're up in a couple years, and whatever the numbers are, we'll figure out the details," Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said. "The notion that the money we're spending now will affect our ability to keep Jonathan and Kane.it's a non-issue." That's not the complete problem though. Signing Kane and Toews on top of their current commitments might put the Blackhawks in a position where they have very little money for anything else. After all, a team needs more than a base to win a Stanley Cup, they need depth too and that will be hard to acquire if they put themselves in another cap crunch situation. To be fair though, it is certainly possible that the cap will be significantly higher by then and/or Kane

The Chicago Blackhawks, Stanley Cup champions, knew it was vital to start off hot in the shortened NHL season of 2013 and that's why they were elated to win 10 of their first 12 games, all on the road, according to the team's star winger, Patrick Kane.
"We knew it was important to start off hot," Kane said. "As the streak went on, we just tried to embrace every game. We wanted to enjoy it and keep winning. That's what we said before every game, to try to keep this thing going and extend it more and more games. ... Throughout those 24 games, it was a hell of a ride."
