Sundqvist was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Sundqvist's return to the AHL corresponds to Beau Bennett returning to the lineup. During his 12 games in the NHL this season, the young center tallied a lone assist. Sundqvist will gain valuable experience helping the Baby Pens make a push for the Calder Cup, rather than sitting out as a healthy scratch in Pittsburgh.

Sundqvist was recalled by the Penguins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Sundqvist suited up for 10 games during his first stint with the big club this season, notching a single assist and eight shots on goal over that span. The 21-year-old forward's next chance to draw into the Penguins' lineup will come Saturday against the Flyers.

Sundqvist is sidelined with an undisclosed injury and will miss a couple of weeks according to GM Jim Rutherford, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sundqvist was reassigned to the AHL and will likely remain there for the at least the duration of his injury, although given his lack of production compared to the other former Baby Pens in the lineup, it is unlikely the 21-year-old will see any more NHL action this season. During his brief stint in the majors, the center played in just 10 contests and snagged a lone helper.

Sundqvist was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
With Evgeni Malkin (knee) and Nick Bonino (hand) both expected to return to action Saturday against Winnipeg, the Penguins are no longer in need of Sundqvist's services as a depth forward. The 21-year-old center suited up for 10 games during his first stay with the big club, registering a single assist and eight shots on goal over that span. Sundqvist will now head back to the AHL to continue his development, where he's tallied 16 points (five goals, 11 assits) in 39 games this season.

Sundqvist is expected to play as a bottom-six center in a checking role Friday. "From Day 1 in Wilkes-Barre, he's been playing against other teams' top lines in a checking role," associate general manager Jason Botterill told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
EDGE Analysis
The Penguins preferred to give Sundqvist an entire season to develop with AHL Wilkes-Barre, but injuries to centers Evgeni Malkin, Eric Fehr and Nick Bonino necessitated the recall. "We do see him as a guy who can play center and wing and be a PK guy at the National Hockey League level," Botterill said. Sundqvist is expected to return to the Baby Pens as soon as Malkin gets healthy, but a strong showing could change that thinking.

Sundqvist has been called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
EDGE Analysis
Sundqvist will make his NHL debut on Friday against the Lightning due to a rash of injuries for the Penguins. In his first season in the AHL, the center has registered five goals and 11 helpers in 39 contests. With Eric Fehr (lower body) on injured reserve, the 21-year-old has a golden opportunity to log some significant minutes in the pros.

Sundqvist has been recalled by the Penguins, from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
EDGE Analysis
The Penguins assigned defender Olli Maatta to the minors to make room for Sundqvist, a 21-year-old center with a scoring touch who has a chance to slot in on the fourth line to open the season.

The Pens sent Sundqvist to AHL Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old was trying to make the jump directly from the Swedish League to the NHL but will instead work on his game with the Baby Pens. He could serve as an in-season callup but it's unlikely he would add much fantasy value for the next couple years.

The Penguins assigned Sundqvist to Skelleftea of the Swedish Hockey League on Tuesday. Sundqvist was a camp standout but will again hone his skills in Sweden. The Pens decided to go with experience over youthful energy, which is somewhat surprising, considering that the unit has more than its fair share of aging veterans.

Sundqvist could force his way onto Pittsburgh's roster heading into the regular season. The Penguins have been impressed with the 20-year-old's ability to play with both skilled players and fourth liners. Fellow rookie Kasperi Kapanen likely has better fantasy upside, but Sundqvist's good size could land him a spot on a checking line.
