Marner scored a goal, added two assists and finished plus-4 in a 6-2 win over the Predators on Tuesday night.
EDGE Analysis
The 19-year-old has nine points, including five goals, in his last six games and 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 16 games this season. Marner is the straw that stirs the drink for his linemates (James van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak) and for the Leafs. And he's getting the defensive side of the game, too. This kid is brilliant.

Marner collected a pair of man-advantage points Friday -- a goal and an assist -- in Friday's 6-3 win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Marner was selected fourth overall in the 2015 draft, and he's been everything as advertised through 14 games. Working in a top-six role, the 19-year-old pivot has 12 points (five goals, seven assists), but his next step is polishing the defensive aspect of his game. Despite the brilliant offensive performance Friday, he still skated to a minus-1 rating after going minus-3 in the previous game against the Kings.

Marner scored both Toronto goals in a 2-1 win over Buffalo on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
Marner is so quick he finds seams faster before defenders even realize he's beside them. This was his first two-goal game of his career.

Marner pitched in three helpers in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
The highly touted rookie set up Tyler Bozak twice in the contest, with his third-period connection looking like it took place in a video game. Just 19 years old, Marner is up to six points and 12 PIM in seven games. He entered the contest averaging 3:22 of ice time on the power play, though he's still looking for his first man-advantage point, which is really all there is to complain about regarding the phenom this early in his career.

Marner scored his first NHL goal in Saturday's win over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
So far, Marner has fired 10 shots and has been an impressive force on the ice. But he has also blocked four shots, so Marner is more than just a one-zone wonder. The 19-year-old is proving he clearly belongs in the NHL.

Marner had a strong game, firing six shots on net, but failing to tally a point in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
He finished minus-2, but he was the most dangerous Leaf on the ice in the first and most of the second. And that's even with Auston Matthews setting a modern day record with four goals. Marner was dangerous in the offensive zone and smart in defensive situations. Matthews may be the bigger name, but there may be a day where Marner pots more points than the big center. And smart fantasy owners know that.

Marner has made the Maple Leafs' Opening Night roster, Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 19-year-old impressed the Leafs' brass all camp long and will officially make his NHL debut Wednesday at the tender age of 19. Marner, the fourth-overall pick in 2015, is coming off two insanely productive seasons with the London Knights of the OHL that saw him pile up a whopping 242 points in just 120 games. He'll look to make an immediate impact on the second line with James van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak, a pair of established NHLers that Marner is likely to man a power-play unit with, as well.

Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello is "very pleased with what we see right now" from Marner at training camp, reports the Toronto Sun.
EDGE Analysis
"I've seen a lot more poise, a lot of maturity and I think he's done a tremendous job this year," said the Leafs' big boss on Sunday. Marner has been lining up with veterans Brook Laich and Colin Greening at training camp and the two veterans have been instilling the merits of a 200-foot game into the young offensive wizard. "He's so smart, so slippery and everybody knows about his offensive talent," Laich said. "But he's going to make the team based on how well he can play the 200-foot game, not just the 100-foot game in the offensive zone." Toronto's pre-season opener is Monday, so game action will help gauge how ready Marner is for full-time duty.

Marner's chances to earn an opening-game start on the Leafs' roster improved Thursday when Joffrey Lupul failed his phsyical.
EDGE Analysis
Lupul will start the season on injured reserve, leaving a spot on the wing up for grabs. Marner's monster OHL season from last year makes him an obvious choice for the role, but it remains to be seen how many young players the team will carry. Marner's options for 2016-17 are limited -- it's NHL or back to junior. He is not eligible for AHL duty and the game growth that would come from playing minor pro.

Marner capped off an outstanding junior season with a Memorial Cup win Sunday. He also added the Memorial Cup MVP award to a long list of honors, including the Ontario Hockey League's (OHL) most oustanding player and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) player of the year.
EDGE Analysis
The Leafs prospect had 39 goals and 116 points in 57 regular-season games with the London Knights. He then won the OHL playoff MVP award with 44 points in 18 games. Marner played center most of the season, largely at the Leafs' behest. But Sunday, he was reunited with Christian Dvorak and Matthew Tkachuk, his powerhouse linemates from his draft year, and the trio carried the Knights to the Mem Cup. It's Leafs or Knights in 2016-17 -- a clause in the agreement between the CHL and NHL prevents Marner from moving to the AHL next season. The Leafs' depth will tell the tale, but it's clear he's ready to take a big step.
