Mikko Koivu (ankle) returned to Minnesota on Saturday. He's not playing Saturday anyway and he skated in Denver on Friday. Koivu hasn't practiced with his teammates yet, so it's looking unlikely that he'll return to the lineup before the Olympic break. The Wild are staying mum on his status, though. "I don't want to say anything yet," coach Mike Yeo said. "I would call Tuesday a longshot right now and I don't want to speculate at all beyond that."

Mikko Koivu (ankle) hasn't skated with his teammates yet, but indications are that he'll ramp up his work efforts soon. He won't play Thursday and coach Mike Yeo said he won't rush Koivu back into the lineup. Koivu is running out of time if he wants to play before the Olympic break, as the Wild have three games remaining after tonight. He was optimistic about his chances of playing in the Winter Games with Finland earlier this month.

Mikko Koivu is optimistic that he'll be back in Minnesota's lineup before the NHL breaks for the Winter Olympics. He's also confident that he'll be ready to play for Finland at the Sochi Games, but he's also trying to temper his expectations. "But it's too early to make that call. What the time schedule will be, I don't know that right now," he said. "I don't think anyone does. But, talking to people who have had (the same surgery), and talking to the doctors, I think I'll be playing games here before the Olympics start." Koivu had surgery on his ankle on Monday and he's projected to miss four weeks.
