Smith will work between the pipes Tuesday for a home start versus the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona's top tender dropped jaws for sinking a 200-foot goal in the NHL All-Star skills competition Saturday -- if only those wacky plays counted in the fantasy realm, right? Smith had stretched his winning streak to three games before the break, but that has been his longest victory volley all season. Also, the Kings dropped four goals on him in a Dec. 1 start, so we'd be reluctant to stream him on an extremely busy 14-game slate.

Smith saved all 19 shots he faced during Thursday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
It was the first shutout and just the 11th win of the season for Smith, and while his .917 save percentage is a solid mark, he's been otherwise disappointing. It was a soft matchup Thursday, too. Vancouver entered on the wrong end of back-to-back road games with the All-Star break in front of them. Smith isn't a complete fantasy afterthought, though. In the right matchups, he's worth turning to in seasonal leagues or utilizing as a low-priced option in daily contests.

Smith will defend the cage Thursday, facing the Canucks at home.
EDGE Analysis
These two teams are pretty much even-steven offensively -- they're both near the bottom of the league in scoring -- but Vancouver is superior in the faceoff dot, so it'll be important for the 'Yotes to come out aggressively and fight hard for possession. Arizona is also ranked 29th defensively, so that usually means Smith is a desperation play in the daily leagues. Fortunately, there are 13 games on tap with this being the final slate before the All-Star break, giving fantasy owners a wealth of starting goalies to choose from.

Smith turned aside 23 of 25 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over the visiting Panthers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
That's two straight wins for the veteran netminder, who kept the good times rolling after a sparkling 45-save performance Saturday against Tampa Bay. Smith is a workhorse, so as long as he stays healthy, he'll likely continue to make the majority of starts for the cellar-dwelling Coyotes. Thanks to the pair of victories, he's now up to double-digit wins (10-13-5) to go with mediocre ratios (2.95 GAA, .915 save percentage) this season.

Smith will defend the cage against the Panthers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
In his last appearance, Smith was absolutely pelted with pucks, as he faced 48 and stopped 45. The heavy workload will likely continue for the netminder as the Yotes are allowing the most shots on goal of any team in the league at 33.8 per game. When you face that much rubber, inevitably you are going to give up some goals, which the 34-year-old has done at a rate of 2.99 GAA on the year.

Smith turned aside 45 of 48 shots in a 5-3 victory over the Lightning on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona built a 5-1 lead, but Smith was under siege in the final stanza. He faced 24 shots in the third period alone. Smith has seen at least 35 shots in four of his last five starts, and unlike in November and December, he hasn't responded positively to all the work. He only owns a .898 save percentage this month. Hopefully, Saturday's effort gets him back on track.

Smith will start in goal Saturday evening against the visiting Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Several role-playing forwards from the Bolts will miss this next contest -- the gritty J.T. Brown (face) comes to mind -- so that's undoubtedly a bonus for Smith, who frankly needs all the help he can get as the chief backstop for a Coyotes club allowing more shots (33.5 per game) than any other team in the NHL. Fortunately, it'll be easy for you to avoid him with Saturday's slate featuring 12 games.

Smith allowed six goals on 35 shots and was pulled in the third period of Wednesday's loss to Winnipeg.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran is now 1-9-1 with an .883 save percentage dating back to mid-December. Those numbers alongside the current state of the Coyotes leaves no reason to roster Smith at this stage of the game. While he's likely still capable of stealing the odd game, figuring out which night that'll happen will be maddening. Additionally, with a no-trade clause and two more seasons at north of $5 million on the books, Smith is likely sticking with the 'Yotes for the remainder of 2016-17.

Smith was designated as Wednesday's road starter against the Jets, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hulking veteran in his 11th year has allowed exactly three goals in each of his past four starts, and he's only skated away with the 'W' once in his past 10 games. His next match promises to be interesting, though, as he'll reportedly be countered by Ondrej Pavelec -- who was waived prior to this season but getting a chance for redemption since neither Connor Hellebuyck nor Michael Hutchinson are getting it done for the 'Peg, who carry the league's 15th-ranked offense.

Smith allowed three goals in 27 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Oilers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran netminder has now allowed three goals in each of his past four starts and 23 over his last seven, bringing his GAA up to 2.84 to go with a .918 save percentage. Smith is stuck on just eight wins in 26 appearances this year and doesn't figure to get in the win column too often, as the Coyotes are currently the cellar dwellers of the Pacific Division with 32 points and a minus-46 goal differential.
