Although Smith was able to secure wins against the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals teams in the Sharks and the Penguins in his last three outings, his GAA remains higher than most fantasy owners would prefer at 2.92. While plenty of the blame can be laid at the feet of a weak group of defenders, the netminder has not done himself any favors, including a significant blunder against Pittsburgh that nearly cost his team the game. Calgary are firing just 29.5 shots on goal per night, so it could be a lighter workload for Smith on Monday.
