Backlund scored his 10th goal of the season and added an assist in Friday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
The second line carried the offense in the win, as linemates Backlund, Michael Frolik and Joe Colborne each had a goal and an assist in the victory. Backlund has now scored five goals in his last seven games, helping him to his third consecutive 10-goal season. With 29 points in 57 games, the 26-year-old isn't a huge point producer, but he's scoring enough to warrant a look in some deeper leagues right now.

Backlund potted a goal in a 5-3 loss to the Wild on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Backlund has played fairly well since the All-Star Break, tallying five points in eight games. He is actually on pace for a career year this season, as he has a chance at hitting 40 points for this first time. If there was ever a time to play Backlund, now would be it.

Backlund notched a goal on three shots, had two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Backlund has found the back of the net in his last three games, and is a plus-5 in that span. The 26-year-old was on the ice for a game-high 21:54 on Thursday night. He's seen an average of 19:43 on the ice during his current streak, and is certainly making the most of this major action he's been seeing lately.

Backlund added a power play marker to a 4-3 victory against Toronto on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Backlund is on a mini hot streak with three points in his last two games. He moved up a line with Johnny Gaudreau's line scratched due to disciplinary reasons, and took advantage. Backlund isn't going to set the ice on fire with his scoring, but is at his usual 35-40 point pace.

Backlund scored his sixth goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
While it was an empty-netter, it all counts the same, as Backlund got on the scoresheet for the first time in six games. He's currently centering the second line and seeing decent minutes, but he's yet to score a power-play goal this season and is known for being streaky, so exhibit caution.

Backlund helped out on both of Sam Bennett's goals and went plus-3 in Thursday's 4-2 win over Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
That's six helpers in the last four games for Backlund, and Bennett's scored five of those goals. You can hardly ask for better chemistry than that, and it's meant a huge spike in ice time for Backlund recently -- he's averaging more than 18 minutes per game (including 18:40 on Thursday) over his last five, numbers more in line with the past two campaigns than the first three months of this one.

Backlund assisted on a pair of goals in Monday's loss to the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Both helpers came on the power play, as Backlund continues to see some time on the man advantage. The center has just 18 points through 41 points on the season though, so he's only worth a look in deeper leagues.

Backlund netted his fourth goal of the season, had an assist and fired five shots on goal in Tuesday's win over the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
That's the second goal in three games for the streaky Backlund, who had previously gone 10 straight games without finding twine. He's worth riding on hot streaks in deeper formats, but with just 11 points on the year, combined with the fact he doesn't play on the power play and is averaging under 15:00 of ice time, we can't recommend using him in shallow formats.

Backlund registered an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
The point snapped a four-game scoreless streak for Backlund, who had started November on fire. Backlund is a really streaky fantasy player, which makes him fairly unreliable on a day to day basis. He does have seven points in 10 November games, however, and is on pace for about 30 points this season.

Backlund dished out a trio of assists in Saturday's win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Backlund has now put up back-to-back multi-point games after getting off to a slow start this season. He doesn't shoot much, but the streaky second-line center can be decent source of point production as long as he stays healthy.
