Neuvirth (upper body) is considered healthy enough to play Thursday against the Sharks, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Neuvirth missed each of the past three games because of the upper-body issue, but it appears it's mostly behind him. As a result of his return, the Flyers sent Anthony Stolarz back to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. While Neuvirth is ready to play, it doesn't necessarily mean he will start the contest. The starting netminder hasn't been announce, but it will be either Neuvirth or Steve Mason.

Coach Dave Hakstol indicated that Neuvirth just took a maintenance day Wednesday, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initial reports indicated the netminder was visiting a doctor, but it appears Neuvirth's absence was just to heal some minor bumps and bruises. Barring something unforeseen, he should be available to back up Steve Mason on Thursday against the Capitals.

Neuvirth had to visit the doctor Wednesday due to an undisclosed issue, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
It sounds as though Neuvirth may have been injured at some point during the third period of Tuesday's game against the Avalanche, but he did finish off the contest. With Steve Mason dealing with an illness, the Flyers may be forced to recall another netminder should either of the two be unavailable for Thursday's contest against the Capitals.

Neuvirth gave up four goals on 40 shots Tuesday in a shutout loss to the Avs.
EDGE Analysis
While backup goalie Reto Berra spun a shutout on the other end, Neuvirth was unable to deal with the sustained Colorado attack, and he's now taken four losses (three in regulation) over his last five starts. The Philadelphia offense has not been very supportive, as Neuvirth has certainly played well overall, but owns just a 3-3-1 record.

EDGE Analysis
He's making a case for playing time, but we all know this level of play cannot continue. Still, Neuvirth is an exceptional start every time he gets the call.

Neuvirth will work between the pipes Saturday in an attempt to stop pucks from the Jets, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fellow netminder Steve Mason is dealing with an illness, which undoubtedly was a consideration for Flyers bench boss Dave Hakstol in preparing for Saturday's contest. Neuvy has compiled impressive numbers through seven games based on a 2.10 GAA and save percentage of .938, which is currently fifth best in the NHL.

Neuvirth is expected to man the net Saturday against the Jets, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Look for Neuvirth to make his third consecutive start in the crease since fellow puck stopper Steve Mason may have "some kind of virus," according to the report. Neuvy has compiled impressive numbers through seven games based on a 2.10 GAA and save percentage of .938, which is currently fifth best in the NHL.

Neuvirth made 28 saves on 30 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
The Czech goalie's first dip into 3-on-3 overtime ended rather quickly, as he surrendered the game-winner only 35 seconds into the extra frame. He's taken three straight losses now, but hasn't posted a save mark under .917 in any of them. He's delivering more than credible work as the Flyers' backup goalie -- in fact, he's easily outplayed Steve Mason so far this year.
