Scheifele (upper body) joined the team for practice Wednesday, sporting a non-contact jersey, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scheifele continues to take steps in the right direction in his recovery, with being cleared for contact the next hurdle. The early end of the 24-year-old's 6-8 week timeline would be Feb. 9 against Vegas, which may be a little too early. It seems unlikely, however, that the Ontario native will need the full eight weeks, barring a setback. Blake Wheeler figures to continue deputizing in Scheifele's stead as the first-line center.

Scheifele (upper body) hit the ice Monday prior to the team's practice session, Brian Munz of TSN 1290 Winnipeg reports.
EDGE Analysis
While its just a first step, the fact that Scheifele was able to get on the ice is a good sign for fantasy owners. The original timeline of 6-8 weeks had the 24-year-old returning as early as Feb. 9, which may not be out of the question, although he will need to absorb some contact in practice before being taken off injured reserve. Once given the all-clear, the Ontario native should retake the top-line center spot and allow Blake Wheeler to move back to wing.

Scheifele will not require surgery to repair his upper-body ailment, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Paul Maurice referred to Scheifele as "a quick healer", which could bode well for him returning closer to the six-week mark -- rather than eight. The Jets have gone 2-0-1 with the Ontario native out of the lineup, as Blake Wheeler -- who slotted into the first-line center role -- putting up four goals in the three games Scheifele missed. Regardless of how well his replacement might perform, there should be little doubt that the 24-year-old will resume anchoring the middle of the No. 1 line once given the all-clear to return.

Scheifele (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
This transaction comes as no surprise, as Scheifele is facing a 6-to-8 week absence, but a mere transactional formality is anything but a consolation for fantasy owners losing the services of one of the game's top centers. The Canadian pivot was off to a point-per-game pace and sits just three power-play points shy of 16 for a new career high in said category.

Scheifele will be sidelined 6-8 weeks with an upper-body injury, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Through 38 games this season, Scheifele is averaging a point per game -- a level of production that the Jets are unlikely to be able to replace. For now, the team will not be calling up a player from AHL Manitoba, instead relying on Mathieu Perreault to take on a top-six role and Shawn Matthias to slot into the lineup. Although Scheifele is not currently listed on injured reserve, one has to imagine it's only a matter of time before Winnipeg makes the move to free up a roster spot.

The Jets' did not have an update on Scheifele (upper body) yet, as he will have additional tests done Thursday, John Shannon of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lack of news on Scheifele -- combined with the pessimism coming out of the Winnipeg locker room -- doesn't bode well for a short-term absence for the center. Fantasy owners may want to start preparing for an extended absence for the 24-year-old in which Blake Wheeler slides over to center and guys like Joel Armia and Mathieu Perreault take on bigger roles. However, it's important to note that nothing official has been announced by the team at this time.

Scheifele will not return to action Wednesday against the Oilers due to an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Scheifele -- according to the Winnipeg Sun's Ken Wiebe -- went down hard in the corner after taking a big hit earlier in the shift. He was in considerable pain and exited immediately to the locker room, so it shouldn't come as a big surprise that his night has come to an end. More information on the star forward's status should be revealed either after the contest or in the coming days.

Scheifele went to the locker room after going down hard, favoring his shoulder, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Multiple beat writers have suggested the issue could be more than minor, which would be a huge blow for the star forward and the Jets. More information will likely come down the pipeline either during or after the contest, but it wouldn't be surprising if he's done for the night at a minimum.

Scheifele netted a power-play goal and added a helper in Sunday's win over Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets torched the Senators by a 5-0 score and Scheifele once again played a key role in the offense. The 24-year-old is sporting a four-game point streak, with three of the four contests being multi-point outings. Scheifele continues to be one of the best fantasy centers this season with 14 goals and 34 points through 27 contests. He's doing it all for Winnipeg and is an automatic roll every game.

Scheifele enjoyed a three-point night in Friday's 7-4 home win over the Golden Knights, adding one goal and two assists, with one of those helpers taking place with the man advantage.
EDGE Analysis
One of Scheifele's best attributes is his pinpoint accuracy in launching rubber on net. His current shooting percentage of 26.5 and 0.5 goals-per-game pace probably isn't sustainable, though he did convert on 20 percent of his shots through 79 games last season, so if he does ultimately regress, it may not be a significant drop. If you're lucky enough to own him, do the new dance we like to call the "Scheifele Shuffle."
