Scheifele will sit out Tuesday's game against the Canadiens for rest purposes, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scheifele will reportedly return to action for Thursday's game against the Flames, but he -- along with numerous other Jets -- will receive a couple days of rest to ensure they are healthy with the playoffs just around the corner. Expect Scheifele to retake his usual role for the club when the team returns home for the final two games of the regular season.

Scheifele found his mate Blake Wheeler twice for the primary assist on both of Wheeler's goals, as his team earned a 6-5 win over Ottawa on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
When the Jets have both Scheifele and Wheeler on the ice, they're one of the toughest offenses in the league to stop. Despite his injuries earlier this year, Scheifele has become a 60-point player for the third straight season and remains a valuable asset in all formats.

Scheifele scored a goal and posted two assists, including one on the game-winning goal, in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Ducks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Boy, is it great to see Scheifele back from his upper-body injury. He has five points, including at least one point in all three games since his return. Missed time because of injuries have kept Scheifele from having a realistic chance at 80 points again, but with 22 goals and 56 points in 53 games this season, the Jets center is poised to average more than a point per game for the second straight campaign.

Scheifele had an assist in a 4-2 win over the Stars on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
This was Scheifele's first game after missing five with an upper-body injury. He played 23:18 and 3:54 on the power play, so the Jets clearly didn't ease him back into the lineup. The 24-year-old center has impressed when healthy, as he has 52 points in 51 contests.

Scheifele (upper body) is ready to return for Sunday's game against the Stars, Sara Orlesky of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets had a tough stretch of injuries, so they should be thrilled to have Scheifele back to center one of the top two lines. Scheifele has racked up 21 goals and 30 helpers in 50 games, with 16 of those points coming with the man advantage. In fact, he's logging 3:11 on the power play per game -- the most in his career -- so the 2011 first-round pick continues to be a universal start in most fantasy leagues

Scheifele (upper body) hopes to rejoin the lineup Sunday against the Kings, but he will wait until game day to see how his body responds to Saturday's practice session before a decision is made.
EDGE Analysis
At the very least, Scheifele is close to rejoining the lineup. The star pivot missed each of the last five games while recovering from the upper-body issue suffered March 6 against the Rangers, leaving the Jets without his services for an extended time for the second time this season. Fortunately, it appears his absence will be much shorter this time around. Expect official confirmation on his status on game day, but Scheifele seems likely to return either Sunday or Tuesday.

Scheifele (upper body) will practice Saturday before a decision is made regarding his status against Dallas on Sunday, Sara Orlesky of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the news effectively rules Scheifele out for Thursday's clash with Chicago, fantasy owners will be encouraged to have a target date in sight for when he will return to action. Before sustaining his injury, the center had tallied six goals and seven assists in his prior 12 outings. Once given the all-clear, the Ontario native should slot back into the top line alongside Blake Wheeler.

Scheifele (upper body) will not be available for the Jets' next pair of contests, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scheifele's prognosis was originally described as short term, but he will now miss his third and fourth outings due to his upper-body issue. Bryan Little has yet to produce any points on the top unit in place of Scheifele, which could cause coach Paul Maurice to consider moving Blake Wheeler to center -- as he did last time Scheifele was sidelined. According to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com, the 24-year-old was still sporting a non-contact jersey during Monday's game-day skate, which doesn't bode well for his timeline to return.

Scheifele (upper body) will not be in action versus Philadelphia on Saturday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Replacing Scheifele -- who has racked up 21 goals and 30 helpers -- will be no easy task, but for now, that responsibility will fall to Bryan Little. Coach Paul Maurice deemed the 24-year-old Scheifele's injury as a short-term situation, but didn't provide a specific timeline for when the center might return to action.

Scheifele (upper body) is considered day-to-day and did not suffer any structural damage, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scheifele won't be in the lineup against the Devils on Thursday, but it's good news for fantasy owners who were fearing another long-term absence. The addition of Paul Stastny at the trade deadline should allow coach Paul Maurice to keep Blake Wheeler on the wing, although he performed well at center during Scheifele's previous stint in the press box.
