Marian Gaborik won't play for Slovakia at the Winter Olympics. He suffered a broken collarbone on Dec. 21 and he has not been medically cleared to participate in the tournament. "Marian has worked extremely hard and done everything possible to rehabilitate his injury and return to the ice with the hope of representing his country in Sochi," said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "We share his deep disappointment that he will not be able to do so, but are optimistic that he will be fully recovered very soon." Gaborik was obviously disappointed that he won't be competing in Sochi. Branko Radivojevic will reportedly take his place.

Marian Gaborik suffered a broken collarbone against the Flyers and will be out indefinitely, according to the team. Gaborik sustained the injury in the first period. The Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline reports it occurred on a hard hit by Zac Rinaldo that sandwiched him with Braydon Coburn. Gaborik, who has only gotten into 12 games this season and had just returned from a knee injury, has five goals and 12 points (one assist coming Saturday). Not only is this a big loss for the Blue Jackets, but it will also hurt Slovakia in the Olympics.
