Marek Zidlicky requested to be traded out of Minnesota two weeks ago. Zidlicky also specified being dealt to New Jersey was his top choice, so when the Devils pulled the trigger on a deal to get him Friday night, Zidlicky must have been very happy. He arrived in New Jersey Saturday morning and is expected make his debut on Sunday.

Marek Zidlicky will make his New Jersey Devils debut on Sunday. Look for Zidlicky to get plenty of power-play ice time. He has just 14 points in 41 games this season, but the move to New Jersey might lead to him finishing the season on a high note.

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Marek Zidlicky in exchange for Stephane Veilleux, Nick Palmieri, Kurtis Foster, and the Washington Capitals' second round pick in 2012. That's quite a lot of pieces for Zidlicky, but it's fair to say that the Devils got the best player in the trade. Although Zidlicky has just 14 points in 41 games this season, he has the potential to be a top-tier offensive defenseman and the change of scenery could do wonders for him. Zidlicky will get a lot of playing time with the man advantage with the Devils and we think this deal will significantly boost his fantasy value.

Marek Zidlicky has reportedly waived his no-trade clause in order to facilitate a potential deal involving the New Jersey Devils. Nothing is official yet, but Zidlicky could be traded in the very near future in a trade that might also involve Devils blueliner Kurtis Foster. Zidlicky relationship with the Wild seems to have soured recently and a move to New Jersey could result in him finishing the season on a high note.

Marek Zidlicky is very well entrenched in Minnesota coach Mike Yeo's doghouse. He will continue to be a healthy scratch for his sub-standard play and his desire to be traded. In fact, Yeo has gone out of his way to play almost anyone else on the blueline other than Zidlicky even when his team has been ravaged by defensemen injuries. Needless to say, Zidlicky should be on your bench pending his trade out of Minnesota.

Marek Zidlicky will be a healthy scratch on Thursday night. He has contributed two assists in his past two games and is being sat amid plenty of trade speculation. "I'm making an assumption that his head would not be in the right place to play this game tonight," said coach Mike Yeo. Zidlicky has made it clear that he wants out, so it wouldn't be surprising if he was in and out of the lineup leading up to an eventual trade. Mike Lundin will play in his place.

Marek Zidlicky and Wild GM Chuck Fletcher have denied reports that the defenseman has been asked to waive his no-trade clause to head to New Jersey or any other team. Zidlicky's agent, Larry Kelly, confirmed the report so it's odd that he would deny it. In any event, it doesn't look like he will be a member of the Minnesota Wild for much longer with the NHL trade deadline less than two weeks away. New Jersey forward and good friend of Zidlicky's, Patrik Elias was also surprised when he heard that the 35-year-old rearguard may be close to joining him as a Devil. However, he would welcome him with open arms if a deal does get done.

Marek Zidlicky has waived his no-trade clause to go to New Jersey, but there is no deal in place yet. Wild GM Chuck Fletcher said all "very premature" and he added that he hasn't been told from Zidlicky's camp that the blueliner is willing to waive his no-trade clause. Despite that, Zidlicky's agent, Larry Kelly, confirmed that Zidlicky has waived his no-trade clause. This seems like a case of Zidlicky wanting to be dealt, but the Wild are less enthusiastic. "I haven't called him and said anything's close," Fletcher said, referring to Zidlicky. "I can tell you for sure I'm planning on talking to other teams. We haven't traded Zid, we haven't made the decision to trade Zid at this point." All the same, Zidlicky's name is worth keeping in mind as we approach the Feb. 27 trade deadline.

Marek Zidlicky will play on Saturday after spending four straight games in the press box. Zidlicky, who had 43 points in 2009-10, has recorded just 11 points in 34 games this season. We wouldn't be surprised if Minnesota is shopping him, but his $4 million annual cap hit might stand in the way of any potential deal.

Marek Zidlicky will be a healthy scratch again on Thursday. It will mark the fourth consecutive game that he has watched from the press box, as his time in Minnesota could be drawing to an end amid trade speculation. Mike Lundin and forward Brad Staubitz will also watch the contest from the press box.
