Marc-Andre Bourdon is out indefinitely with concussion issues again. He was injured earlier this month, while playing for AHL Adirondack, on a check that rattled his head off the glass. Philadelphia sent him to the minors last month after he was cleared to return from a concussion. Bourdon didn't play last season because of concussion problems, but he skated in 45 games with the Flyers in 2011-12.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that Marc-Andre Bourdon might be loaned to the AHL so he can eventually ready himself for NHL action. Bourdon hasn't played in the NHL since April 11, 2012. He scored four points in 17 games in the AHL last season. His struggles with concussion issues have delayed his development.

Marc-Andre Bourdon (concussion) skated on Sunday. Bourdon suffered the concussion last November and still is unable to play. He will undergo some testing with concussion specialist Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher of the University of Michigan later this week. Bourdon had good and bad days at training camp. "Some days I felt like Bobby Orr on the ice and I could do everything, and some days I felt like I was a squirt hockey player," Bourdon said. "I couldn't react fast and my passes were off and I was really dizzy. I couldn't look down or up real fast. It's really tough for me. I don't really have an answer." The 24-year-old was drafted in the third round of the 2008 draft. His hockey future could be in doubt as he is coming upon a year off with his concussion issues.

Marc-Andre Bourdon (concussion) has successfully cleared waivers. All the same, the Flyers haven't reassigned Bourdon yet. He will probably start the 2013-14 campaign on the team's long-term injured reserve list.

Defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon will start the season on the long-term injured reserve list due to a concussion. Bourdon suffered the concussion in November and is still having some symptoms from post-concussion syndrome. He practiced with the Flyers in April but obviously had a setback.

Marc-Andre Bourdon still hasn't received the green light to return from a concussion he suffered last November. "I still have some ups and downs," said Bourdon, who continues to battle some symptoms. "It's taking longer than I thought. I'm hoping [to be back soon]. I'm praying on it." Philadelphia GM Paul Holmgren believes that Bourdon is heading in the right direction though.

Marc-Andre Bourdon is eager to land a spot with the Philadelphia Flyers after missing most of the 2012-13 season due to a concussion. He has sustained two concussions over the past year, but feels ready to make a comeback. "I'm dying to play hockey right now. That's my only focus," Bourdon said. "I kinda felt sorry for myself at the start, but I'm over it. I'm just ready to go. I just need my head to be 100 percent. I have the mindset to play hockey and make this team." Philadelphia has nine defensemen, including Bourdon, on one-way contracts so there will be plenty of competition at training camp. Bourdon still has to get medical clearance, but he has been skating and receiving message therapy in the hope of being ready when camp opens.

Marc-Andre Bourdon (concussion) is close to getting cleared for contact. "I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there," Bourdon said. "I'm much better and moving in the right direction. The doctors are optimistic." That being said, he's still not completely symptom free. While he's not suffering from headaches, he does occasionally experience blurred vision. Still, that represents a major improvement compared to how he was feeling when he was first injured.
