Marc-Andre Bourdon was returned to AHL Adirondack on Sunday by Philadelphia. The Flyers have been busy shoring up their defense via trades before next week's deadline. The club acquired Pavel Kubina from Tampa Bay and Nicklas Grossman from Dallas, which prompted Bourdon's return to the minors. Bourdon has skated in 39 games with Philadelphia this campaign, while posting four points, 46 penalty minutes, 64 hits and 65 blocked shots.

Marc-Andre Bourdon might be disciplined by the NHL for his hit from behind on Buffalo's Nathan Gerbe during Wednesday night's contest. "There was no turning," said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. "It was just a hit from behind, head-first into the glass." Gerbe was forced to the leave the game as a result of the play and may have suffered concussion on the play. Bourdon was assessed two minutes for boarding. The league will have to react quickly if a suspension is warranted because the Flyers host Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
