It is still not clear if Loui Eriksson will suit up against the Sharks Saturday night. He seems to have fully recovered from a concussion that has kept him out of action for 15 games but the Bruins have not made a final determination that Eriksson will play. When Eriksson does return to action, he may start on Boston's third line alongside Ryan Spooner and Carl Soderberg as Reilly Smith has fit in very well alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand on Boston's second unit in Eriksson's absence. Check back with us closer to Saturday night's 10:30 pm ET start time for an update on Eriksson's status.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) hopes to return Saturday in San Jose. "I would think so," Eriksson said after skating Thursday morning. "We'll see. I don't know exactly what they're thinking, but I would hope (tomorrow)." He missed his 15th straight game Thursday because of a concussion.

Coach Claude Julien is confident that Loui Eriksson (concussion) has more to offer once he's ready to return to the lineup. "He's a good player, a smart player," Julien said. "He reads plays very well (and has) good decision-making all around. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. He's never had a chance to get his game going. He's had some setbacks with those concussions. I think we're going to see a better player if he can stay healthy. There's a lot to his game that we have yet to see." Eriksson has suited up in 24 games with the Bruins this season and during that time he has generated five goals and 14 points. He is getting closer to returning to the lineup from his second concussion of the 2013-14 campaign.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) has been given the green light to participate in contact drills. Eriksson remains doubtful for Thursday's game, but this is still a huge step forward. He hasn't played since he sustained his second concussion of the season on Dec. 7. He has five goals and 14 points in 24 games in 2013-14.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) continues to skate at practice in a no-contact jersey. He hasn't played since Dec. 7 and he's been limited to 24 games during his first season with Boston because of a pair of concussions. Eriksson has five goals and 14 points when he's played, but it's uncertain when he'll be ready to do that again.

Winger Loui Eriksson - playing defense with partner Shawn Thornton - took part in a competitive 3-on-2 down-low drill in the Boston Bruins' practice on Friday. But Eriksson (concussion) is not yet cleared for contact. Interestingly, Thornton reminded people that he played a lot of defense in his junior and AHL years, and even in one NHL game with Chicago. "Me and Loui didn't get scored on," Thornton said with a laugh.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) isn't ready to take contact, but he did participate in some Bruins' drills on Wednesday. "He's just skating, so he's a ways away still," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "He's not supposed to do any contact and we're just putting him in our practices so he can be around players." Eriksson hasn't played since Dec. 7.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) took to the ice Monday before Boston's practice. It's believed to be the first time he's skated since he suffered his second concussion in 45 days on Dec. 7. There's no timetable for Eriksson's return, but at least now he seems to be making some progress.

Loui Eriksson is still experiencing concussion symptoms. "We're careful with that," GM Peter Chiarelli said. "I talked to Loui a little bit (Monday). He's coming along, but he's still experiencing symptoms. With that type of injury, you see slow improvements, and that's what Loui is going through right now. So I don't know what the time period would be." Eriksson suffered his second concussion in 45 days on Dec. 7, so the Bruins will be patient with his recovery. There's no timetable available for his return.
