Loui Eriksson generated a goal and an assist in Sweden's 5-0 win over Slovenia on Wednesday. The win puts Sweden into the semifinals of the Olympics Games, where they will play Finland on Friday. The points were Eriksson's first of the tournament.

Loui Eriksson is slated to begin the Olympics on Sweden's top line alongside Nicklas Backstrom and Daniel Sedin. There's a debate to be had about whether this actually represents the top forward trio for the Swedes since the group of Henrik Zetterberg, Gabriel Landeskog and Alexander Steen could certainly be the best combo. Gustav Nyquist, Patrick Berglund and Daniel Alfredsson will form a solid third unit while Carl Hagelin, Marcus Kruger and Jimmie Ericsson will round out the forwards.

Loui Eriksson missed practice Friday as he needed dental work to fix some teeth that were pushed in after getting a high stick to the mouth in Thursday night's game against St. Louis. The good news is that Eriksson should be fine to play Saturday afternoon against Ottawa in the Bruins' last game before the Olympic break. Erkisson is then off to Sochi to play for Sweden. Until Eriksson regains his role as a top six forward in Boston, however, his fantasy value for the rest of the NHL season remains limited.

Although Loui Eriksson seems to be rounding into game form, Reilly Smith is showing no signs of slowing down and giving up his second-line position. So for now and for the immediate future Eriksson remains a third liner. He will once again skate alongside Chris Kelly and Carl Soderberg. Eriksson owners are going to have to exhibit a lot of patience going forward.

Loui Eriksson earned an assist in Thursday's loss to Montreal to extend his point streak to three games. He feels he is getting back on track after missing a sizable chunk of the season because of two concussions in 45 days. "I feel good. The last couple of games I think we've been playing well, our line. It's better and better, every game I've played, so it's a good feeling," said Eriksson before Thursday's contest. "I just hadn't played in a while, so it was just the timing and being able to handle the speed of the game. It will come. The games I've played, the more confident I'm getting. It's a good feeling." He has 18 points in 33 games.

Loui Eriksson scored a goal Monday versus the Islanders for the first time since Nov. 25. Eriksson has appeared in seven games since returning from his second concussion and he has generated two points during that time. In 31 matches this season, he has six goals and 10 assists. The chemistry that Reilly Smith has with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand has kept Eriksson on the third line and his concussion problems haven't done him any favors either. His fantasy value is dropping dramatically for this campaign.

Loui Eriksson will remain playing on the Bruins' third line for now. He will continue to skate alongside Carl Soderberg and Ryan Spooner as Reilly Smith has shown few signs of slowing down in his current second-line role flanking Patrice Bergeron with Brad Marchand on the other wing. Until Smith and Eriksson swap positions, Eriksson's fantasy value will be suppressed.

The Boston Bruins play in Dallas Thursday night and Loui Eriksson is looking forward to playing in his old barn. "It will be special going back to where I started in the NHL," said Eriksson, who played 501 games for the Stars. "It's going to be weird sitting in the locker room, but it's definitely nice to (go) back and see all the guys I played with." A pair of concussions have spoiled Eriksson's first season in Boston, but he has contributed five goals and 10 assists in 26 games.

It sounds like Loui Eriksson will stay on the third line for a little longer. "It gives him a chance to find his confidence and his game back and everything else," coach Claude Julien said. "There's going to come a time when I'm going to have to make a decision to either leave it that way or make that move. But I think right now, it's been good and they scored that goal for us, which gave us that win, so it wasn't a bad place for him to be." He skated alongside Carl Soderberg and Ryan Spooner in his return to the lineup on Saturday, while Reilly Smith stayed on the second unit with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

Loui Eriksson (concussion) had an assist in his return to Boston's lineup on Saturday. Eriksson has dealt with two concussions this season, so he's a significant injury risk going forward. That being said, he has the potential to be a point-per-game player for the remainder of 2013-14 if he can stay healthy.
