Kyle Turris has agreed to a two-year/$2.8 million contract. Turris had been reportedly holding out for $3-4 million per year depending on the length, but that's hard to get when you're a restricted free agent forward who has 46 points in 131 career games. According to Nick Kypreos, Turris still wants to be traded, but the Phoenix Coyotes have already shown that they won't cave in to Turris' demands unless it makes sense for them.

Darren Dreger is reporting that Kyle Turris and the Phoenix Coyotes have agreed to a two-year contract. No terms are being announced but the deal should be signed at some point this week. Turris has held out as a restricted free agent but he would have had to sit out the season or go to Europe if he was not signed by December 1. This season is likely a lost cause but his offensive potential could come to the forefront at any time. He could still be traded, so stay tuned.

The Ottawa Senators are among the teams that are most interested in trading for Kyle Turris, if the Phoenix Coyotes are willing to sign and then move him. 'Yotes GM Don Maloney doesn't want to trade Kyle Turris, but it would be a shame to see the developing forward waste an entire season. The Senators still need some depth on offense and the thought may be that the former first round pick could flourish in a different system.

Restricted free agent Kyle Turris has asked the Phoenix Coyotes to trade him. However, GM Don Maloney appears unwilling to do so. "If he wants to play in the NHL this season, he will re-sign with us," said Maloney. "We will not trade his rights under any circumstances and are prepared to live with the consequences if he decides to sit out this, and future, seasons." According to the CBA, Turris has to be signed by Dec. 1 or he cannot play this season in the NHL.

Coyotes GM Don Maloney calls Kyle Turris' position in the contract negotiations "so illogical." Turris is reportedly seeking $3-$4 million per year depending on the length of the deal. He certainly has plenty of upside, but Maloney understandably isn't interested writing Turris a check based on his potential alone. Turris had just 11 goals and 25 points in 65 games last season, so it's fair to say that he still has a lot to prove. Maloney also said that he's not interested in trading Turris.

According to reports, Kyle Turris and the Phoenix Coyotes are far apart in their contract negotiations. Scott Burnside of ESPN.com is reporting that league sources said the 22-year-old forward is seeking a three-year deal worth just over $12 million or a two-year contract at about $6 million. When Coyotes GM Don Maloney was asked to comment on the progress of the negotiations he said there has been "no movement" and "the Turris camp has taken a position that is very hard to defend or justify." There is still time to get a deal worked out, but if these reports are true than Turris will likely have to decrease his demands to stay with the Coyotes.
