Quincey underwent the operation in May to remove bone chips from the ankle after his mobility was compromised at various points this past season, resulting in him missing nine games. Now skating at 100 percent health and bracing himself for training camp, Quincey will look to build on his career-best plus-10 rating from a year ago. Following the Red Wings' offseason acquisition of Mike Green, Quincey is expected to see his minutes decline as he moves from the second to third defensive pairing, where he'll likely play next to either Brendan Smith or Jakub Kindl.

Quincey should have plenty of time to recover before the start of training camp, as this sounds like a relatively minor procedure, and it's likely something he played through during the playoffs. He only has 31 points over 155 regular-season games the last two years, but he's under contract through 2015-16, and should be able to secure a similar role next season.

Quincey assisted on the Red Wings' lone goal in Saturday's 5-1 Game 2 loss to the Lightning. After finishing the regular season with just 18 points across 73 games, Quincey has tallied assists in both of the Red Wings' first two playoff games. Still, don't count on the production continuing, as he mostly profiles as a stay-at-home type on the blue line.
