Schultz (back) was on the ice for Monday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Schultz skated in his first practice since injuring his back on October 25, and looks to be on track with the 2-to-4 week timeline that was initially given for his return. Expect Schultz to skate in a few more practices before getting the all-clear, though.

Schultz will be sidelined for the next 2-to-4 weeks with a back injury.
EDGE Analysis
Schultz likely suffered the injury in Sunday's tilt against L.A. when he was hit by the Kings' Nick Shore into the end boards. He was forced to exit that contest after taking the hit, and hasn't been able to get back on the ice since. Darnell Nurse is expected to get an opportunity to skate alongside Andrej Sekera on the Oilers' top pairing in Schultz's absence.

Schultz (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Schultz exited Sunday's game against the Kings with the injury, and hasn't been able to return to the ice since. The nature of the ailment remains unclear, but if healthy, Schultz will be eligible to return to the Oilers' lineup Tuesday against the Flyers.

Schultz (undisclosed) will not play Tuesday night against the Wild, Rob Tychkowski of the Edmonton Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schultz has been dealing with the mysterious ailment since leaving Sunday's home game against the Kings in the second period. His next chance to lace his skates will be this Thursday, when the Oilers oppose an undefeated Canadiens team.

Schultz (undisclosed) is unlikely to play Tuesday against the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Schultz will undergo tests later Monday, though at this point it's still unclear what is ailing the defenseman. If he does miss Tuesday's tilt, his next opportunity to draw back into the lineup will come Thursday against the Canadiens.

Schultz exited Sunday's game in the second period and did not return due to an undisclosed issue, the Edmonton Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear exactly what caused the issue, but it forced Schultz out of at least the remainder of Sunday's contest. His participation (or lack thereof) during practice over the next couple days should provide a better picture of his potential availability Tuesday against the Wild.

Schultz could be facing a make it or break it season in Edmonton, according to the Edmonton Journal.
EDGE Analysis
The Oilers only signed Schultz to a one-year contract in the off-season for the second consecutive summer, a pretty clear sign that they don't trust him enough yet for another long term commitment. Schultz has talent but has never been consistent enough for the Oilers liking. That being said it would be hard for Edmonton to let him go as the team weakness is defense and those players just don't grow on trees.

Schultz signed a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Oilers on Wednesday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports. Schultz will return to his role as a top-pair defender for the Oilers in 2015-16. He tallied six goals and 25 assists for a total of 31 points in 81 games with Edmonton last season.

Schultz bagged the game-winning goal in Monday's 4-1 victory over the Avalanche. It's the first game-winner of the season for Schultz, who has only found twine six times on the campaign. While he'll still finish with a career high in assists and is just three points off of last season's mark, Schultz's development seems to have plateaued since his promising rookie year of 2012-13. Much like Tyler Myers has since leaving Buffalo for Winnipeg, Schultz would have a better chance at tapping into his full potential if he was traded to a more competitive squad than the Oilers, a perennial doormat.

Schultz dished out two assists in Friday's loss to Columbus. Schultz now has three assists in his last three games and has four points in his last seven games. While he's averaging 22:18 of ice time, he's been too inconsistent this season to be trusted in most shallow leagues. He's been playing better of late, though, so if the 24-year-old can keep it going, he could be worth a look down the stretch.
