Faulk (lower body) participated in practice Monday but wore a yellow non-contact jersey while doing so, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk hasn't returned to the lineup since getting injured during practice Feb. 12 but took a step in the right direction Monday by practicing in a no-contact fashion. He will need to shed that jersey before there are any talks about a potential return, so expect another update when that occurs.

Faulk (lower body) has not practiced since Feb. 24 and is considered week-to-week, Michael Smith of the team's official site reports. "He's rehabbing and getting closer," coach Bill Peters said recently. "He's done a real good job working hard on other things that he can do: upper body and cardio. He's going to do everything he can to get back and be ready to play."
EDGE Analysis
Faulk missed an initial six games in late February with the injury, and attempted a return to the lineup Feb. 23 against the Flyers, which did not go well, as he saw ice time of only 16:51 in that contest. He practiced the next day, but "hasn't felt quite right since", according to Smith. At this point, it does not look like a return to the lineup is imminent for Faulk. He would presumably require at least a day or two of full practice before he could be considered game-ready, so that leaves him questionable at best for the Canes' remaining games this week, starting with Tuesday night against the Capitals.

Faulk (leg) won't play Saturday against the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk has yet to resume skating, and remains without a definitive timetable for his return to game action. The star blueliner's owners can expect an update on Faulk's status once he's able to get back on the ice.

Faulk (leg) won't play Tuesday against the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk has now missed four consecutive games with a leg injury he aggravated in practice on Feb. 24. The Hurricanes were sellers rather than buyers at the NHL's Feb. 29 trade deadline, meaning the team will likely take a cautious approach with Faulk. The star defender's next opportunity to return to action will come Saturday against Tampa Bay, but he'll likely need to log several full practices before returning to Carolina's lineup.

Faulk (leg) will not play again Sunday against the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
The Hurricanes are in sell mode (sending Eric Staal to the Rangers on Sunday), but Faulk remains one of the bright spots on an otherwise mediocre-at-best club. Tied for third in goals amongst defensemen with 15, the Hurricanes and fantasy owners alike will need to wait at least one more game (next play Tuesday against the Devils) for the return of his services.

Faulk (leg) won't play Friday, when the Hurricanes host the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk missed Thursday's morning skate, which had put his status in doubt before he was officially ruled out Friday. Considering that Faulk is the points leader among Hurricanes defensemen with 15 goals and 19 assists, his absence makes a weak offense look even worse. Faulk will also be missed terribly on the power play as he's accounted for 20 percent of the team's points on the man advantage this season.

Faulk (leg) did not participate in the Hurricanes game-day skate on Thursday and is unlikely to suit up against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk missed six games prior to rejoining the lineup on Tuesday, however appears to have aggravated the injury during practice Wednesday. After starting out the season on fire, the 23-year-old has definitely cooled off, as he's logged a meager four points in 2016, including just one assist on the power play. Despite the injuries and lack of recent production, the defenseman continues to have solid fantasy value considering he averages over three minutes of ice time per game with the man advantage.

Faulk (leg) skated a season-low 16:51 in his return to the lineup Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Bill Peters was clearly being cautious with his star defenseman after Faulk's injury had forced him to miss the previous six games. However, there's not much to worry about here from a fantasy perspective, as Faulk's ice time will eventually creep back up to the 23-24 minutes per night he is used to once he shakes off the rust. Roll him as you normally would.

Faulk (leg) took part in line rushes during pregame warmups, indicating he will play Tuesday against the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
The Hurricanes and fantasy owners alike will welcome Faulk back into their lineups with open arms, as he's been a great source of offense from the blue line this season, notching 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 54 games. Michal Jordan will be a healthy scratch Tuesday in order to make room for Faulk in the Hurricanes' lineup.

Faulk (leg) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk was on the ice for pregame warmups ahead of Sunday's game against the Lightning, but ultimately didn't participate in that contest. It seems as though the 23-year-old blueliner will likely go through the same routine ahead of Carolina's matchup with the Flyers, meaning owners can expect an update on Faulk's status following warmups Tuesday evening.
