Faulk (lower body) will be in the lineup for Thursday's regular season opener against the Jets, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk returned to practice Tuesday, a good indication that this would be the outcome for him on Opening Night. The blueliner provided a fair amount of offense last season for the Hurricanes (37 points in 64 games) but posted a minus-22 rating. Given the expected outcome of the team this season, it wouldn't be surprising if Faulk winds up with a similar season in 2016, with the potential for higher counting stats if he can remain healthy.

Faulk (lower body) returned to practice Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk has been battling a lower-body ailment since he sustained the injury in Friday's preseason matchup with the Capitals, but his return to practice Tuesday suggests he'll likely be available for Thursday's season opener against the Jets. Either way, Faulk's owners can expect confirmation on his status ahead of puck drop Thursday evening.

Faulk (lower body) is considered day-to-day and head coach Bill Peters indicated Sunday he could practice Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk didn't practice Saturday after leaving Friday's preseason contest early due to the lower-body issue and sounds as though he'll be ready for the team's opener. However, more on his status should arise as the season closes in.

Faulk left Friday's preseason game against Washington with a lower-body injury and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how Faulk sustained the ailment but his status is something to check on in the coming days given he won't return to Friday's game. The 24-year-old defenseman has six days to heal up before the Hurricane's Opening Night matchup with the Jets on Oct. 13.

Faulk finished the season with 37 points in 64 games.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk had a terrific start to the season with 30 points in his first 36 games to Dec. 27, but faded badly after that. He had just four points in his next 18 games before suffering an ankle injury in early February, missing the better part of six weeks, before returning for the Hurricanes' last nine regular season games. Faulk remains one of the game's better offensive defensemen, however he continues to be hampered by a weak supporting cast, and also needs to show he can maintain a strong level of consistency for a full season. He should definitely be on your draft list next year, but don't overpay to get him.

Faulk assisted on Jacob Slavin's goal during Tuesday's 2-1 shootout victory against the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
The young defenseman has three points in his last five games, and is up to 37 for the season. He appeared to have a chance to flirt with his career high of 49 points, but injuries have limited him to just 62 games thus far. Still, when healthy, Faulk has the game to be a very talented blueliner. With his ability to not only score, but assist his teammates, block shots, and put pucks on net, the 24-year-old is more than useful to fantasy lineups.

Faulk skated 20:46 in Thursday's 3-2 win against the Blue Jackets. He registered zero points, one shot on goal, a hit and three blocked shots.
EDGE Analysis
It was a quiet return to the lineup for Faulk, after having missed the better part of the last six weeks due to an ankle injury. The good news, however, is that he was able to finish the game without any complications. Faulk remains the Hurricanes' top offensive threat from the blue line, and it shouldn't be long before you start to see his name show up on the scoresheet over the team's remaining eight games. Feel free to get him back in your fantasy lineups immediately.

Faulk (lower body) will return to the lineup for Thursday's game against Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
Faulk has missed 18 of the Hurricanes last 19 games with a nagging lower-body ailment, but returned to practice Monday, and appears to have finally overcome his injury. The 24-year-old blueliner's owners will be happy to have him back in their lineups, as he's been a consistent source of offense when healthy this season, tallying 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 55 games. Faulk will likely return to his role on the Hurricanes' top pairing and power-play unit in Thursday's matchup with the Blue Jackets.

Faulk (ankle) won't play Tuesday against the Sabres, but hopes to get some games in before the season ends. "We hope to get him back soon," coach Bill Peters said. "He'll be a big boost, not only on our five-on-five play but on the power play."
EDGE Analysis
Faulk was back at practice Monday after missing 17 of the past 18 games with the injury, but is apparently not quite ready to rejoin the lineup. His next opportunity to do so will come Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
