Anderson will likely not be in the lineup against the Islanders on Friday as he just rejoined the team, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic Cleveland reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Anderson isn't considered game ready for Friday's matchup, one has to imagine he would also be forced to miss Saturday's trip to Chicago. If that is the case, the winger would most likely make his season debut Tuesday Oct. 10 versus the Hurricanes. Oliver Bjorkstrand appears set to deputize on the second line in Anderson's place.

Anderson agreed to a three-year, $5.55 million contract extension with the Blue Jackets on Monday, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was a training-camp holdout and even asked for a trade on Sept. 28, but thankfully the fourth-year pro was able to re-up with Columbus before the team's season opener Friday. Coming off 17 goals and 29 points in just 12:01 of average ice time last year, Anderson will be looked to for continued offensive output as part of a young and exciting Jackets squad.

According to reports, Anderson has asked for a trade after not being able to reach an agreement on a new contract with the Blue Jackets, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
EDGE Analysis
Columbus general manager Jarmo Kekalainen denied that he received a trade request stating, "This trade request is news to me," after being asked about it. Anderson is a restricted free agent which gives him limited rights as far as where he can sign and would likely need to head overseas if he remains without a new deal, but wants to keep playing this season.

Anderson will miss the start of training camp if the Blue Jackets are unable to give him a new contract, per his agent Darren Ferris, The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The burgeoning winger garnered 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists) over 78 games for what technically qualified as his rookie season in 2016-17. It's worth noting that Ferris also represents Detroit's Andreas Athanasiou, who is also holding out for a new deal and even flirting with the idea of playing in the KHL. The commonality between the two is that they are both seeking their first contract following entry-level deals. Consider bumping Anderson down slightly on your cheat sheets, as Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen reportedly has said that a late start to camp for Anderson would be "detrimental."

Columbus has reportedly come to an agreement with the Golden Knights that will send the 12th overall pick in this year's entry draft and a prospect to Las Vegas to dissuade the new team from selecting Anderson, Joonas Korpisalo, Jack Johnson and David Savard in the upcoming expansion draft, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson's offensive upside was on full display in 2016-17, as the 23-year-old winger potted 17 goals and notched 12 assists while skating in a limited role through 78 games. The 2012 fourth-round pick only averaged 12:01 of ice time last season, and if the Blue Jackets' willingness to send a first-round pick to Vegas to keep him on board is any indication of their confidence in the young power forward, he'll likely have an expanded role in 2017-18.

Anderson scored his 17th goal of the season in Sunday's 3-2 win against the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson snapped an 11-game goal drought, his first time lighting the lamp since March 18. He has scored goals in back-to-back games on four separate occasions this season, so perhaps fantasy owners in postseason pools and DFS will benefit with a marker in Game 1 against the Penguins.

Anderson picked up a goal, an assist, three shots, a plus-2 rating and two PIM despite skating a team-low 9:24 in Thursday's win over Florida
EDGE Analysis
He'd missed the scoresheet in five straight, putting just two shots on net in that span, but Anderson has been surprisingly productive on the whole despite averaging less than 12 minutes of ice time this year. With 15 goals, 26 total points, a plus-11 rating, 72 PIM and 112 hits, Anderson can certainly find a place on fantasy rosters in deep formats.

Anderson (lower body) will rejoin the mix starting Monday against the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was expected to miss at least a week, but will wind up missing the shorter end of his 7-to-10 day timetable handed to him a week ago. There's no guarantee he draws into the lineup Monday even though he's healthy, but there's at least a chance that's the case. The young winger has contributed a bit more than was expected of him this season, drawing into 63 games for the Blue Jackets and adding 24 points (14 goals, 10 assists) over that span. His ice time will likely remain limited and it's unlikely Anderson will see time on the power play, limiting his upside from a fantasy standpoint.

Anderson (lower body) is expected to be sidelined approximately 7-10 days, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson suffered the lower-body injury during Sunday's contest against the Devils and it appears to be more than a minor ding. He can safely be ruled out for the club's contests Tuesday and Friday, and Saturday seems doubtful at best. Columbus should recall some reinforcements from the AHL affilate in his absence, but it's unlikely his replacement will measure up.

Anderson will not return to Sunday's matchup in New Jersey due to a lower-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson appeared to tweak his right knee after getting tangled up with Stefan Noesen late in the second period, per Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, but the injury will officially go down as lower body for now. The Ontario native finished his night with no points or shots in 6:00 of ice time and has not registered a point in his last four games.
