Anderson will miss the start of training camp if the Blue Jackets are unable to give him a new contract, per his agent Darren Ferris, The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The burgeoning winger garnered 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists) over 78 games for what technically qualified as his rookie season in 2016-17. It's worth noting that Ferris also represents Detroit's Andreas Athanasiou, who is also holding out for a new deal and even flirting with the idea of playing in the KHL. The commonality between the two is that they are both seeking their first contract following entry-level deals. Consider bumping Anderson down slightly on your cheat sheets, as Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen reportedly has said that a late start to camp for Anderson would be "detrimental."
