Eberle (shoulder) has been skating before practice, Tom Gazzola of Oilers TV reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's still not practicing with the team, but Eberle continues to recover from his season-opening injury, with Gazzola speculating that he could be back in approximately one week. That'd be good news for the Oilers as well as Eberle's fantasy owners, who have been missing his high-end scoring ability. He may not return to ice time alongside Connor McDavid, as Nail Yakupov has been doing well in that spot, but it's likely Eberle's eventual return will give the Oilers consistency at right wing on the top line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall.

Eberle (shoulder) will start the season on injured reserve, Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eberle starting the season on the IR comes as no surprise as he's expected to be out 4-to-6 weeks with the right shoulder injury originally sustained in a preseason game last week. Once healthy, Eberle could start seeing more consistent ice time with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, a supremely talented center. Since entering the NHL in 2010-11, Eberle has played exclusively with the Oilers, and last year he set in 24 goals and 39 assists through 81 games.

Eberle (shoulder) out 4-6 weeks with a right shoulder injury, Frank Seravalli of TSN Hockey reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eberle was injured in Tuesday night's preseason game and head coach Todd McLellan thought it looked more serious than just a minor injury. This is a crushing blow to an Oilers team on the rise as it will be difficult to replace Eberle's 63 points from last season for the opening month.

Head coach Todd McLellan had no update on Eberle (shoulder), but said it didn't look great. Eberle was seen in a sling after the game, Ryan Rishaug of TSN Edmonton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eberle scored 24 goals and 39 assists last season and was one of the long bright spots on a season that saw them net Connor McDavid. With a collection of first round picks reaching their potential, this could be the year the Oilers finally make the jump, but if Eberle is out for any extended period of time, it could put a further delay in their ascent to contention.

Eberle exited Tuesday's preseason game with an apparent right shoulder injury, Jason Gregor of the Edmonton Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eberle was clutching his shoulder as he left the ice with the injury, and will likely be done for the night. The Oilers should provide more information on the extent of the injury after the game. If the ailment proves to be minor, Eberle should be positioned for a top-six role on the wing, though it's not clear if he'd slot next to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins or hotshot rookie Connor McDavid.

Eberle was credited with the assist on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' goal in Wednesday's loss to the Ducks. Despite his horrid team context, Eberle has been rolling since the beginning of January. Over his last 39 games, Eberle has netted 15 goals and 26 assists, making him among the most productive scorers in the league during that stretch. Continue to keep him active and reap the rewards.

Eberle continued his run of hot play, potting a goal and adding two assists in a 4-1 win over the Leafs. Eberle has been on quite the rampage, having recorded points in five straight games for a total of 11 during that span. He's up to 19 goals and 36 assists on the season and other than his minus-21 rating, he's managed to remain decently productive on a horrendous Oilers squad.

Eberle pushed his point streak to three games with a goal and a power-play assist Thursday against Pittsburgh, but went minus-2 in a losing effort. That's six points in the last three games for the highly talented Eberle, though he remains well short of the scoring paces he posted in the last two full NHL seasons. Still, he was key in sparking the Oilers' comeback from a 4-0 deficit in this one, albeit in vain.
