Eberle suffered a leg injury late in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Panthers.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle took a hard check along the board and limped to the bench. He didn't go to the locker room, but he also didn't take another shift in the game. Consider the forward day-to-day for now.

Eberle generated a pair of power-play assists and three shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle had the secondary assist on tallies by Brock Nelson and Johnny Boychuk. It's been a rough start to the year for the 29-year-old winger, who had gone pointless in the first three games of the year before the two-point burst Friday. He should see plenty of scoring opportunities as long as he remains on the top line.

Eberle scored his first goal of the preseason Tuesday as the Islanders defeated the Flyers 3-2 in overtime.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle may be the key to any success the Islanders have this season as they are looking for goal scoring and Eberle seemed to find his missing scoring touch in the postseason last year. Eberle was a free agent but elected to come back to the Isles with a five-year $27.5 million contract. He is expected to play on the top line with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee, but that will only last if he produces, something that hasn't always occurred in his first couple of seasons with the Islanders.

Eberle agreed to terms on a five-year, $27.5 million contract with the Islanders on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle is coming off a down season in which he tied the lowest point total of his career (27), with the previous total coming during the lockout shortened 2012-13 campaign. Still, this new deal suggests that team brass believe the winger can get back to being a 50-plus point producer. The 28-year-old figures to continue filling a top-six role in addition to logging minutes on the power play, giving him rock-solid fantasy value.

Eberle managed a power-play assist and five shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

EDGE Analysis

Eberle had three power-play helpers in four games against the Hurricanes, and was only held off the scoresheet when the Islanders were shut out in Game 1. Eberle concluded the postseason with four goals and five helpers over eight contests.

Eberle scored a key goal in a 3-1 victory against the Penguins during Game 4 on Tuesday. The Islanders swept the Penguins in the first-round series.

EDGE Analysis

The Penguins scored first in each of the last three games of the series, which should have been a recipe for disaster for the Islanders. Instead, New York answered those first Penguins goals almost immediately on all three occasions. On Tuesday, it was Eberle scoring less than two minutes after Jake Guentzel gave the Penguins an early lead. The Penguins will be seeing Eberle in their nightmares this offseason, as he tortured Pittsburgh with four goals and six points in the sweep.

Eberle scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over the Penguins in Game 2 of their first-round series.

EDGE Analysis

That's now four points (two goals, two helpers) in two games for Eberle, whose tally midway through the third period Friday proved to be the game-winner. After producing a career-low 0.47 points per game in the regular season, the 28-year-old is showing early signs of being one of the surprise stars of the postseason, leading the Isles to a 2-0 lead as the series shifts to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Eberle scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist during Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins in Game 1 of their first-round series.

EDGE Analysis

After opening the scoring 100 seconds into the game, Eberle set up Brock Nelson with a nifty backhand pass on Matt Murray's doorstep later in the first period to give the Isles a 2-1 lead. After managing only two assists in 13 career playoff games with the Oilers, Eberle's first postseason in New York is off to a flying start.

Eberle scored his 18th goal of the season in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Sabres.

EDGE Analysis

It's Eberle's fourth goal in his last four games. This season may be otherwise forgettable, but he does seem to be heating up. He has five points in his last four games. Eberle might help off the wire.

Eberle netted two goals, including the winner, in Thursday's 5-4 win over Winnipeg. He also picked up an assist.

EDGE Analysis

Nice night, but Eberle's game has been largely barren this season. And it has been awful of late. He had just two goals in the 14 games in March and his 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 74 games make him bench worthy. Eberle is poised to miss the 40-point mark for the first time, lockout season aside.
