Gaudreau (illness) will play Tuesday against the Capitals, NHL.com's Aaron Vickers reports.
Gaudreau was a game-time decision heading into the contest, but after feeling healthy during pregame warmups, he'll return to his role on the Flames' top line. The diminutive winger has been scorching of late, collecting five points over his past three games.

Gaudreau will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Capitals due to an illness, Sportsnet's Roger Millions reports.
Gaudreau tallied five points in his last three games, but his illness could pump the breaks on his hot streak. Expect an update on Gaudreau's status when the Flames make a decision on his status for Tuesday's game.

Gaudreau added two assists in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Canadiens.
Gaudreau is getting into a rhythm after a shaky start to the season, with five points in his last three games. With the Flames off to a surprisingly hot start, Gaudreau could continue to see some good opportunities to get on the score sheet.

Gaudreau gathered a goal and assist in Friday's 4-3 win over the Predators.
After a bumpy start to the season, "Johnny Hockey" seems to be settling in a bit, as he's now registered three points while attempting 11 shots on goal over his last two games. The Flames were already short on forward talent heading into the season and are dealing with a number of injuries at the position, so the team's hopes of maintaining its surprising winning record (6-4-2) may hinge on Gaudreau's ability to provide points with regularity.

Gaudreau scored his first-career NHL goal and added an assist in Sunday's win over the Jets.
After a Mason Raymond shot was turned away, Joe Colborne passed the redound behind the net to Gaudreau, who used his speed to score a slick wrap-around goal. Gaudreau's two points Sunday were the first two of his career, but if he continues to skate with Raymond and Mikael Backlund on the second line, more points will follow. The 21-year-old rookie has a bright future and will be a key fantasy player in the coming years.

Gaudreau is expected to serve as a healthy scratch Friday against the Blue Jackets, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.
The arrival of Josh Jooris from AHL Adirondack as well as the expected return of Lance Bouma from a facial injury looks like it will result in the removal of both Gaudreau and Devin Setoguchi from the lineup. Expected to be one of the better contributors of a weak Flames offense, Gaudreau has struggled mightily in the team's first five games, mustering just one shot on goal. It may not be long before the Flames send Gaudreau to Adirondack to regain some confidence.

Gaudreau has only one shot on goal and no points in five games to open the season.
Gaudreau certainly has the talent to compete, but it's probably going to take a little time in the AHL to adjust. His playing time has been cut the last few games and unless he starts improving fast, he is likely heading to Adirondack.

Johnny Gaudreau made a great impression at the Flames' development camp.
"Hey, he's a talented guy," Flames GM Brad Treliving said. "You can see some of the other kids had fear in their eyes when he was coming down. I'd hate to play against him in this sort of atmosphere." Gaudreau's next step is to get ready for training camp. After winning the Hobey Baker Award, there's a good chance that he'll make the Flames' opening game roster.

Johnny Gaudreau, who is 5-foot-9, has reached out to other smaller forwards such as Martin St. Louis for advice in how to make it at the NHL level.
In a league that is getting bigger, faster and stronger, Gaudreau, a Flames prospect, is 5-foot-9, 150 pounds. "I've got a lot of great advice," Gaudreau said. "I've just got to make sure I follow in their footsteps and do what they've been doing. They said you need to be strong in your legs, definitely work out your legs. And you don't need to be too big in your upper body because you won't be able to stickhandle that well. Just a lot of great pointers from a lot of great guys and I really appreciate it. It's just doing the little things right, keep working out, making sure I'm skating and getting stronger. Obviously I'm going to get stronger. I have to make sure I keep working out and working hard." Gaudreau had 36 goals and 80 points with Boston College last season, and he scored in his only NHL game.
