Gaudreau has only one shot on goal and no points in five games to open the season. Gaudreau certainly has the talent to compete, but it's probably going to take a little time in the AHL to adjust. His playing time has been cut the last few games and unless he starts improving fast, he is likely heading to Adirondack.
