Larsson will be given a qualifying offer, which means the Sabres will retain his rights next season, reports The Buffalo News.
Despite a mid-season rift with former head coach Ted Nolan, Larsson redeemed himself with a strong second-half and will remain a Sabre for the foreseeable future. After being promoted to the top line, Larsson clicked with linemates Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson, scoring 13 points over the final two months of the season. Larsson is unlikely to be the Sabres' top center next season, as that role will likely fall on Zemgus Girgensons, but Larsson should be placed in a scoring role. His fantasy value is limited until he can show his performance was no fluke.

Larsson was demoted to AHL Rochester on Monday to finish the season.
Larsson turned it around after being named the team's No. 1 center down the stretch, finishing with 16 points in 39 games and 12 penalty minutes. Previously pigeon-holed as a utility checking line player, Larsson has really blossomed offensively in the AHL and showed that he can score in the NHL when used in the right situations, but the organization already sees Connor McDavid and Sam Reinhart as the team's future centers. Given Larsson's performance, it's unlikely the Sabres will relinquish his rights. A strong finish to the season with Rochester will further solidify Larsson's case and a poor finish won't really tarnish his reputation. He has little left to show in the AHL.

Larsson turned in a two-point effort in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes. He registered a goal in the second period and set up Tyler Ennis' game-winner 15 minutes later.
A mid-February call-up by the Sabres from AHL Rochester, Larsson has not only earned a long-term stay in Buffalo, but his strong play has awarded him an appointment on the team's top line. While such a deployment usually wouldn't mean much on the league's lowest-scoring unit, Larsson is beginning to heat up in the dog days of the season. Over a 15-game sample, Larsson has produced five goals and eight assists to go along with a plus-5 rating. There's certainly a place for him in deep leagues, and perhaps in the Sabres' top-six ranks for years to come.

Larsson set up Matt Moulson's game-tying third-period goal in an eventual 4-3 victory for the Sabres on Tuesday against the Maple Leafs.
Larsson has recorded an assist in four of his last five games and has three goals and 10 points dating back to March 7. In addition, he's held down a plus-4 rating down that stretch, a surprising development considering the Sabres have lost nine of their last 12 games. The 22-year-old might make for a useful pickup in deeper formats over the final week of the season.

Larsson snapped a two-game pointless streak and scored an assist in Monday's 4-3 loss to Dallas.
The Sabres' top center played more than 20 minutes for the fifth straight game and has three points in that span. Though the Sabres' second line did most of the damage Monday night, Larsson finished with 25 shifts, two shots on goal and won 52 percent of his faceoffs. The Sabres have a chance to score a lot with games against the Coyotes, Leafs and Avs coming up, so Larsson has some pretty good upside. He's firmly entrenched as the team's No. 1 for the time being. Linemates Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson have also started scoring with more consistency, which can only be a positive for Larsson.

Larsson scored a goal in Monday's shootout loss to Washington, giving him three in four games.
Larsson also played a season-high and career-high 23:10 as the team's No. 1 center, winning 62.5 percent of his faceoffs as well. He fired four shots on net in his increased role and is entering a hot streak with the new opportunities. Including a three-point effort against Toronto, Larsson now has five points in his past four games. He's a nice play for a potential hot streak but his play may not be sustainable, given his inconsistent track record.

Larsson recorded a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs.
The 22-year-old winger has only played 24 games with the Sabres this season, but has managed three goals and four assists. He racked up 15 goals and 26 assists with AHL Rochester earlier in the year, so he's definitely a player to keep tabs on for the future.

Larsson skated on the top line at practice Monday, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Larsson scored the Sabres' only goal in a 6-1 loss to Washington on Saturday and he's being rewarded with a stint on the team's top line, skating between Matt Moulson and Tyler Ennis. Larsson was a very good scorer in the AHL and publicly complained about his usage and a lack of quality linemates, but now he's really getting his chance. Larsson isn't particularly strong in the dot, but playing with scoring wingers should pump up his fantasy value. It remains to be seen how much of a leash coach Ted Nolan is willing to give him, so before picking Larsson off waivers, wait and see how well he responds to his promotion first.

Larsson scored the Sabres' only goal in a loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.
He's been whining that he's been used the wrong way by head coach Ted Nolan, so he's getting a chance to prove his mettle on a scoring line ... at least for now. He's been a good offensive option in the AHL, so now's his chance. Watch him, perhaps not for next season, but 2016-17. The Sabres won't produce many options next season.

Larsson registered two shots with 16:14 of ice time in a 3-0 shutout loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
Larsson had publicly criticized the team for using him in different roles from game to game, which he attributed to his poor showings in the NHL. On Tuesday, Larsson looked more comfortable skating on a scoring line. He played 16:14, his highest total of the season and should continue to see that kind of ice time going forward. The Sabres unloaded three forwards at the trade deadline and this will be Larsson's audition for next year. His fantasy upside is limited until he shows a consistent ability to score.
