Johan Larsson is showing some two-way skills early in training camp with other rookies of the Minnesota Wild. Larsson will get some seasoning with Houston of the AHL and should develop as a hard-working, two-way player with the Minnesota Wild. Larsson captained the Swedish team to the World Junior Championship last season.

The Minnesota Wild are thrilled with Johan Larsson who captained the Swedish team to the World Junior Championship on Thursday. The Swedes defeated Russia 1-0 in overtime to win their first World Junior Crown in 30 years. "He's very competitive and physically strong and seems to thrive in big games," Minnesota assistant GM Brent Flahr said. "He's put a stamp on what he is as a player in this tournament." Swedish GM Johan Garpenlov confirmed that Larsson will turn pro with Minnesota next season. If he is unable to crack the lineup as a rookie, Larsson will get some seasoning with Houston of the AHL. The prospects in the Minnesota system are starting to look good.
