The Sabres retained the rights to Larsson (wrist) after giving him a qualifying offer.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson's season was cut short after a suffering a wrist injury, and finished with 11 points in 36 games. He was just getting into a groove and had established himself as the team's No. 3 center when he injured his wrist, and the Sabres clearly liked enough of what they saw to bring him back for the 2017-18 season. He should be healthy when training camp rolls around, and he'll have to fend off the competition to regain his spot in the lineup.

Larsson (wrist) will not be made available for the expansion draft.
EDGE Analysis
Despite appearing in just 36 games last season, the Sabres opted to protect Larsson, who was on pace for career highs across the board. It took Larsson a while to find his groove in Buffalo, but once he had settled in as the third-line center, he showed marked improvement in all facets of the game. His showing was promising enough for the Sabres to protect him for the expansion draft, and he's expected to re-sign with the team soon. Larsson should be able to make a full recovery from his wrist injury that forced him to miss all of the 2017 calendar year, and upon his return will likely return to a similar role.

Larsson recently had the pins in his wrist taken out and says he's "weeks out" from a full recovery, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson missed all of the 2017 calendar year, suffering his season-ending injury on Dec. 31 against the Bruins. Larsson was just getting into a groove during the time of injury, forming a dependable third line with Marcus Foligno and Brian Gionta. He enters the summer as a restricted free agent, and given Buffalo's lack of depth down the middle, there's a chance he gets re-signed to a short-term deal. He finished the season with 11 points in 36 games, and has shown enough offense in the AHL to be a potential top-nine forward in the NHL. He is not expected to participate in the World Championships due to his injury.

Larsson (wrist) will miss the rest of the season, per a report from Gotland Newspapers in Sweden via NHL.com on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Apparently, Larsson sent a text message to a Swedish reporter, saying "unfortunately my season is over". His original return timetable following surgery was 2-to-3 weeks, so this is obviously devastating news for the 24-year-old. The left winger's 11 points in 36 games haven't moved the fantasy needle much, but would have amounted to somewhere around the 25-point mark over a full season, which would have eclipsed his previous career high of 17 set last year.

Larsson (wrist) is out indefinitely after needing surgery to repair a wrist he injured on Saturday, Bill Hoppe of the Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The center will likely be out 2-3 weeks recovering if all goes well. He was averaging 16:51 minutes per game before the injury, but only had 11 points in 36 games, so when he returns, play him with caution.

Larsson sustained a dislocated wrist in Saturday's game against the Bruins and will be out for weeks, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
While opposing the Bruins in the matinee, Larsson leaned into defenseman Adam McQuaid on a rush toward the puck only to get plastered into the end boards. While Larsson has been confined to a bottom-six role, the Sabres will miss his two-way acumen with three games coming up in a four-day span, starting with Tuesday's road match against the Rangers. Don't be surprised if Larsson ends up on IR soon.

Larsson sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday's game against the Bruins. He will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson was slammed shoulder first into the end boards on a clean hit from defenseman Adam McQuaid. A bottom-six forward, Larsson only logged 2:43 of ice time before heading to the training room. With Ryan O'Reilly (abdomen) and William Carrier (hand) also ailing, the Sabres may need to call up a minor-league reinforcement if two days off between the next game isn't enough time for Larsson to heal.

Larsson's second of the season was the game-winning goal for the Sabres' 2-1 win Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson took a centering feed from Brian Gionta off the rush and finished the night with two shots on goal and a blocked shot. Larsson's line finished second in ice time behind Ryan O'Reilly, and over the past three games his line has scored six points. They'll have to produce more for a few more games to show it's not a flash in the pan, but in Jack Eichel's absence it's Larsson's line that has stepped up.

Although Larsson (undisclosed) was considered a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup with Vancouver, the 24-year-old forward was ultimately able to gut it out and participate in the contest.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson was only able to log 11:44 of ice time in Thursday's game after averaging 18:50 of ice time over the first three contests of the season, indicating the left-handed Swede likely hasn't fully recovered from his undisclosed ailment. The Sabres don't play again until Tuesday against Philadelphia, which should give Larsson plenty of time to recover from the nagging injury he's dealing with.

Larsson will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Canucks, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Larsson missed yesterday's practice for a maintenance day and said he's feeling fine today.
EDGE Analysis
It doesn't sound like Larsson's ailment (if indeed there is one) isn't something that's bothering him too much and he'll be a good bet to play Thursday in Vancouver. Larsson had to step up in the wake of superstar Jack Eichel's injury and so far he's done an OK job at it, posting two assists but also a minus-2 rating while averaging 18:50 of ice time in three games. Larsson is worth monitoring for value while Eichel remains sidelined, but will lose all that value once Eichel returns.
