Larsson matched a career-high with 17 points this season, but he also recorded a minus-30 rating which was easily his worst mark over parts of six years in the NHL.
EDGE Analysis
The Sabres ended up with a minus-81 goal differential, so Larsson's defensive struggles can largely be attributed to a systematic problem. Originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (56th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and flipped to Buffalo in a 2013 trade, scouts were hyped about Larsson's two-way acumen in the infancy of his career, so there's reason to believe he'll improve with more experience and perhaps a better supporting cast in Buffalo in the years ahead.

Larsson recorded a goal and an assist through 20:30 of ice time during Monday's 5-3 win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
This was just the third time in 13 games that Larsson has marked the scoresheet, and he's registered only three goals and 11 assists through 64 games for the campaign. As a result, there aren't many settings where the Swede should be viewed as a serviceable option. However, it's definitely worth noting that Monday's ice time was a season high, and he's currently skating in a top-six role and receiving power-play looks with the second unit.

Larsson picked up two helpers and two shots on net in a 3-2 overtime win against the Red Wings on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Don't get used to Larsson having multi-point games. This is only the second time all season the Swede has done it, and the first time was in October. Perhaps that isn't surprising, given that Larsson only has 12 points overall in 59 games. This was a bit of a fluke, though the Sabres aren't going to complain.

Larsson has been suspended two games for cross-checking Florida's Vincent Trocheck during Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson's cross check landed on Trocheck's unguarded neck and could have easily injured the Panthers' pivot, so it's not surprising that the NHL decided additional discipline was warranted in this case. The Swedish forward, who's notched three goals and nine points in 51 games this campaign, will be eligible to return Thursday against the Islanders.

Larsson has a hearing scheduled Friday for his cross-check on Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck in Thursday evening's home loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson whacked Trocheck on the side of his jaw, which resulted in a five-minute major as well as a match penalty. Supplementary discipline very well could be in store for the bottom-six pivot.

Larsson has gone 33 straight games without finding the back of the net.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson's goal drought probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise when you consider he has put up just 30 shots over that stretch -- less than one per game. While the Swede has been limited to a bottom-six role, his minutes remain decently high (13:33 per game), which indicates that the opportunities are there, but he simply isn't capitalizing. At this point, it appears that the 25-year-old's 10-goal, 2015-16 campaign was an anomaly, as he almost certainly won't reach that mark again this season.

Larsson notched an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Late in the second period, Larsson made an alert outlet pass to Jake McCabe who found Sam Reinhart in front of the net for a tip-in goal, snapping a 10 game pointless streak for the 25-year-old. Despite earning consistent playing time on Buffalo's third line, Larsson hasn't made much of an impact in 2017-18 on the scoresheet only recording four points in 22 games. The 25-year-old did have injuries derail his season last year, so perhaps this could be the spark that helps him find his 2014-15 form that saw him notch 16 points in 39 games.

Larsson netted his first goal of the season and added a helper in Sunday's win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Larsson had a productive nigh all-around, firing five shots on goal and dishing out three hits. The third-line center has a 10-goal season to his name, but Larsson sees limited minutes and doesn't offer much to fantasy goers. He was on his way to a career year in 2016-17 before suffering season-ending injuries, so there's potential for him to develop into a reliable depth scorer.

Larsson (wrist) signed a two-year, $2.95 million contract extension with the Sabres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
So much for arbitration. Larsson's camp continued to negotiate with the Sabres past the July 5 filing deadline, and the two sides ended up reaching this new deal for a $525,000 raise in terms of annual average value -- not to mention an additional year of having the Swede on the books. He was limited to 36 games last season due to a wrist injury, but was rather efficient offensively, notching six goals and five assists over 16:51 of ice time. Under the tutelage of coach Dan Blysma, Larsson's power-play ice time had gradually shrunk in order to increase his opportunities on the penalty kill, so it'll be worth checking to see if that changes under new bench boss Phil Housley. Either way, he's likely to be confined to a fourth-line center role and thus is an unappealing fantasy option.

Larsson (wrist) will file for salary arbitration, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evidently, the Swede has turned down his qualifying offer. His last contract with the Sabres went for one year and $950,000. Of course, Larsson only played in 36 games this past season, with a wrist injury to blame, but providing 11 points over that span represented a career-high clip, so he can use that to try and justify a higher salary with an arbiter.
