Eriksson Ek was a healthy scratch for Sunday's win over Ottawa as the Wild decide whether to keep him in Minnesota and enact the first year of his three-year deal by playing ten games. " It's his 10th game. We haven't made our mind up on that.," head coach Bruce Boudreau told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson Ek did need stitches on his chin after getting hit by a puck in Saturday's game, but that wasn't a factor in him missing Sunday's game. He's played nine games and it sounds like the Wild may send him to the AHL or back to his team in Sweden. The Wild may not make a decision until later in the week, so expect him to sit out a few more games even if he remains with Minnesota.

Eriksson Ek did not have a shot on goal and had just 6:14 of ice time in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. Despite skating mostly on the fourth line, head coach Bruce Boudreau said he still has confidence in Eriksson Ek. "I used him in the last 10 minutes [in Pittsburgh] when I went down to three lines, so I think he's pretty responsible," Boudreau told the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
After starting his NHL career with two goals and three assists in four games, Eriksson Ek doesn't have a shot on goal in his last five games. The Wild have said they're not concerned about burning the first year of his three-year contract if he played 10 NHL games, but GM Chuck Fletcher was noncommittal toward Eriksson Ek's future.

Eriksson-Ek found twine yet again in Thursday's 4-0 win over Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
The 19-year-old Swede just keeps delivering for the Wild. In this latest game, he moved the puck past the boards, dangled around a pair of defenders, and fired the puck into the corner of the net from a tough angle for his second goal of the season. He's seeing NHL ice time with Erik Haula sidelined with an upper-body ailment, having recorded two goals, three assists, and a plus-3 rating in only four games.

Eriksson-Ek collected three assists with three shots on net and a plus-3 rating during Tuesday's win against the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
The freshman did all the damage over just 8:55 of ice time, which is perhaps most impressive. However, his limited role isn't going to provide Eriksson-Ek with many opportunities to hit the scoresheet like he did on Tuesday. He's nothing more than a player to watch in most fantasy settings.

Eriksson-Ek scored a goal in his first career NHL game in Saturday's overtime loss to New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
It's still possible the Wild may only keep him on the roster for the first nine games as they can do so without burning the first year of his three-year contract, but a goal in his first game may end that scenario. He had three shots on goal and 9:36 of ice time, but didn't play on the power play. Still, his ice time and role could grow quickly.

The Wild recalled Eriksson-Ek from AHL Iowa on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Erik Haula (lower body) may not be available for Saturday's game against the Devils, so Eriksson-Ek was brought up to the big club as an insurance policy in case Haula isn't able to go. The 19-year-old Swede already has one goal in one game with AHL Iowa this season, and is a gifted two-way player with a knack for scoring big goals. If Haula isn't able play against New Jersey, Eriksson-Ek will almost certainly be making his NHL debut Saturday evening.

Eriksson-Ek's work visa has been approved and he could play Tuesday for AHL Iowa, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson-Ek began the season in the AHL because he needed paperwork related to his visa approved before he could join the NHL roster. However, he may need to play a game or two in the AHL before he's called up since he hasn't even practiced in a week. The Wild had said he would return to his team in Sweden if he didn't make the NHL roster, so he's not likely to be the AHL for long.

Eriksson-Ek was assigned to AHL Iowa, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson-Ek's stay in Iowa may be short, however, as the Wild had previously said he would return to his team in Sweden if he didn't make the NHL roster. It's possible the team changed its mind, but they may be making a short-term roster move in conjunction with Eriksson-Ek going to Iowa. Either way, Zac Dalpe will begin the season as the center on the fourth line.

Eriksson-Ek is likely to make the Wild's final NHL roster with Zac Dalpe put on waivers, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's still possible the Wild may only keep him on the roster for the first nine games as they can do so without burning the first year of his three-year contract. If he doesn't make the NHL roster, the Wild have said he'll return to his team in Sweden. He's had a strong preseason, so it also wouldn't be surprising if he stays at the NHL level all season.

Eriksson-Ek had an assist in Sunday's preseason win over Calgary. He'll play in the next two preseason games, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The odds of Eriksson-Ek making the final roster keep increasing. However, it's possible the Wild may keep him on the roster for the first nine games without burning the first year of his three-year contract. If he doesn't make the NHL roster, the Wild have said he'll return to his team in Sweden.
