Eriksson Ek did not have a shot on goal and had just 6:14 of ice time in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. Despite skating mostly on the fourth line, head coach Bruce Boudreau said he still has confidence in Eriksson Ek. "I used him in the last 10 minutes [in Pittsburgh] when I went down to three lines, so I think he's pretty responsible," Boudreau told the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

After starting his NHL career with two goals and three assists in four games, Eriksson Ek doesn't have a shot on goal in his last five games. The Wild have said they're not concerned about burning the first year of his three-year contract if he played 10 NHL games, but GM Chuck Fletcher was noncommittal toward Eriksson Ek's future.
