Eriksson Ek was a healthy scratch for Sunday's win over Ottawa as the Wild decide whether to keep him in Minnesota and enact the first year of his three-year deal by playing ten games. " It's his 10th game. We haven't made our mind up on that.," head coach Bruce Boudreau told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
EDGE Analysis
Eriksson Ek did need stitches on his chin after getting hit by a puck in Saturday's game, but that wasn't a factor in him missing Sunday's game. He's played nine games and it sounds like the Wild may send him to the AHL or back to his team in Sweden. The Wild may not make a decision until later in the week, so expect him to sit out a few more games even if he remains with Minnesota.
