Rookies Jimmy Hayes and Dylan Olsen remained on the ice for 40 minutes after Saturday's morning skate. The two have been healthy scratches in the opening two games and are patiently waiting to see if either will get into the lineup. "You always got to be ready," Hayes said. "You have to make sure you're mentally ready, and physically you want to push the pace a little bit when you do the extra work, so if you get in a game you're not behind the playoff pace the other guys are at." Hayes and Olsen are big parts of the Chicago future but may not see any action in the playoffs unless the Blackhawks go deep and have some injuries.

Jimmy Hayes drew back into the Blackhawk lineup against Nashville Saturday night. He dressed in favour of Michael Frolik and Brendan Morrison, who both sat in the press box. it was Hayes first action in six games. As he only logged 2:55 of ice time, Hayes remains worthless from a fantasy perspective.

Jimmy Hayes has been a healthy scratch for the past two games. Chicago has played gritty forwards Andrew Shaw and Brandon Bollig instead and it hasn't helped that he is scored just one goal and one assist in his past 14 matches.

Jimmy Hayes scored a goal and added an assist in the Blackhawks' 2-1 win over Detroit Tuesday. With Jonathan Toews sidelined for this game, the Hawks were forced to rely on secondary scoring, which they received from Hayes. Marcus Kruger also found the back of the net in the Chicago victory.

Jimmy Hayes has been called up by the Chicago Blackhawks. Hayes had a respectable four goals and seven points in 13 games with Chicago, but he was sent down when they acquired Brendan Morrison. He's worth keeping an eye on to see who his linemates are on Saturday.

The Chicago Blackhawks have sent Jimmy Hayes to the minors. This move is probably in response to their acquisition of Brendan Morrison on Friday. Hayes has been impressive with seven points in 13 games with Chicago this season, so he's worth keeping an eye on if they decide to recall him later in the 2011-12 campaign.

Jimmy Hayes has four goals and seven points in 10 games with the Chicago Blackhawks. Those numbers become more impressive when you factor in that Hayes has averaged just 11:28 minutes of ice time per game. On Wednesday he recorded two points while logging just 9:41 minutes. Hayes isn't a bad guy to pickup in the hopes of riding what's left of his hot streak, but we wouldn't count on him to maintain anything close to this pace for the remainder of the season.

Patrick Sharp's absence from the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup will mean more playing time for rookie Jimmy Hayes. Sharp will be out for three to four weeks because of a wrist injury. Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said Hayes and Andrew Shaw will be relied upon to help fill the void created by Sharp's absence. ""Hayes might get a better opportunity," Quenneville said. "He's been really good for us in every game he's played. Shaw's played well and Ben was really good for us last year. He's been playing well (for Rockford)." Hayes has two goals in five games and Shaw one in three after their recalls from Rockford to help offset the losses of Marcus Kruger (concussion) and Daniel Carcillo (suspension, left knee injury). "Anyone's misfortune is someone else's opportunity to show themselves and prove they can also be in this league." Shaw said. "It's misfortune for (Sharp), but if we go out there and keep working, good things will happen."

Jimmy Hayes scored his first NHL goal on Monday in a 4-3 loss to Edmonton. It was quite a thrill as Hayes was playing in only his second NHL game of his young career. Coach Joel Quenneville wants him to play a physical game as that is his best chance of remaining in the NHL but if he keeps scoring, that won't hurt either.

Coach Joel Quenneville was impressed with the play of Jimmy Hayes in his NHL debut Friday. Hayes was recalled from Rockford of the AHL and while he only played 8:23 minutes, he had a couple of shots on goal, hit the post with another shot, had one blocked shot and had four hits. "He had a great first shift and he still had presence," coach Joel Quenneville said Friday night. "He had good physicality, strength with the puck and he was dangerous around the net. He didn't play a ton but it was a good first game for him." Hayes had five goals and 18 points in 28 games with Rockford of the AHL this season so while he may be valuable with his hits and blocked shots, he does not have a lot of fantasy value in traditional pools.
