Spezza's upper-body ailment was already expected to cost him "more than a few days," but his placement on injured reserve makes his earliest return date comes Feb. 13 against the Capitals. The team recalled forward Radek Faksa in a corresponding move Friday, and should continue to provide updates on Spezza as his return from the issue nears.

Spezza has been phenomenal for a Stars team just starting to break out of its slump, with a point in four of his last five contests. The 6-foot-3 center is on pace for his fourth consecutive 60-point season. While operating at nearly a point-per-game pace, expect Spezza to continue logging top minutes for one of the best offensive-minded teams in the league.
