New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello confirmed that he still sees Jaromir Jagr as a top-six forward. The Devils inked Jagr to a one-year/$4 million contract on Tuesday. "I certainly watched him the last couple of years, with Philly and Boston in the playoffs," Lamoriello said. "I've never seen him work so hard and make people around him better. I just felt with his experience and what he can bring to the power play, he still has the size and strength." Jagr had 16 goals and 35 points in 45 games in 2013.

Jaromir Jagr's new one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils will pay him up to $4 million. Jagr's base salary is $2 million, but he could earn an additional $2 million in performance bonuses. Jagr gives the Devils another top-six forward after losing Ilya Kovalchuk, but there's no question that Kovalchuk in his prime is a bigger offensive threat than Jagr at the age of 41.

The New Jersey Devils have officially signed Jaromir Jagr. The signing was reported on Monday, but the Devils weren't ready to confirm the move until now. This move will help fill the void left by Ilya Kovalchuk's surprise departure, but Jagr certainly won't replace Kovalchuk's offensive numbers. Jagr's still a solid top-six forward, but at the age of 41, he's not the star he once was.

New Jersey GM Lou Lamoriello will not confirm or deny the "rumors" that Jaromir Jagr will sign a one-year deal with the team. "I have no comment on any players that can potentially can go anywhere," Lamoriello said. "I have no comment. When and if we have transactions, you'll know. But rumors I don't respond to." The "rumor" stems from a Pierre LeBrun report, so it seems highly probable that Jagr will end up with New Jersey. That being said, it's not surprising that Lamoriello would be reluctant to say anything until everything is official.

Jaromir Jagr has reportedly signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils. The agreement might not be officially announced until Tuesday. At the age of 41, Jagr is still a valuable top-six forward, but he's not capable of leading the charge offensively. Still, the New Jersey Devils definitely need the help after Ilya Kovalchuk decided to bolt to the KHL.

The Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti was unable to confirm or deny the various rumors about Jaromir Jagr as of Sunday morning. One of those murmurs involved the 41-year-old taking a look at the Prudential Center as part of his alleged interest in the New Jersey Devils. It sounds like things are purely speculative about Jagr at this point, which could at least provide some entertainment during a lull in market movement.

The Montreal Canadiens are unlikely to sign Jaromir Jagr. Although Jagr and the Canadiens did seem to have mutual interest, it looks like Montreal has moved on. After signing Ryan White, the Canadiens' roster looks set for the 2013-14 campaign and they've spent close to the cap ceiling. At this point, it would be a challenge for Montreal to work in Jagr under the cap.

It might not come as a huge surprise, but the Boston Bruins confirmed what many believed: Jaromir Jagr will not re-sign with the team. He scored nine points in 11 regular season games and 10 assists - but no goals - in 22 postseason contests for the Bruins after being traded from the Dallas Stars around the trade deadline. Jagr is 41, but has shown enough skill that some team might still give him a shot, if the price is right.

Jaromir Jagr's agent confirmed that the Hurricanes are on the winger's list of teams he's interested in playing for. "There are a lot of reasons," his agent Petr Svoboda said to Canes Country. "Ron Francis is there and when he looks at the roster and everything else, he feels that it's a very good team. Jagr would really help the Hurricanes' power play and add some experience to a pretty young group, but at this time it doesn't look like the Canes are pursuing him. "A long story short, there are more than three teams (he'd join)," Svoboda said. "Jaromir wants to be sure of the decision that he makes because he was in Philly, he was in Dallas, then in Boston. He wants to make sure he makes the right decision."

Jaromir Jagr's agent says that he has not spoken to the Sabres about a possible contract. Rumors have surfaced that indicated the Sabres were hot on the Jagr chase, but as of now that doesn't seem to be the case. "I have not talked to anybody in Buffalo and the Sabres have not called," Petr Svoboda, Jagr's agent, said. "It's absolutely not true. Speculation." Jagr is considering three teams, with Boston not included.
