Jaromir Jagr wasn't happy with the Devils' effort in their 6-3 victory over Florida on Monday. "I don't know what's wrong," Jagr said. "We had a 3-0 lead and it could be (bleep)ing 5-0 lead. We played like it's a (bleep)ing preseason game." Jagr played a huge role in their victory with a goal and three assists. He hasn't been shy about sharing his feelings as a member of the Devils and he has every reason to be passionate given that the team is barely holding onto hope in the battle for a playoff spot.

Devils right wing Jaromir Jagr is in the NHL's top 10 all-time in goals (704, 7th), assists (1,044, 9th) and points (1,748, 7th), and he got there by burning the Islanders more than any other team. The most goals he's scored against any team is 61 in 101 games versus the Isles. That's 19 more than he's scored against anyone else, as Philadelphia and Buffalo are next on his goal hit list with 42. Jagr's 88 assists and 149 points against the Isles also are his most any other team. This season, Jagr had a goal and two assists in the first three Devils-Isles games. The Devils visit the Isles tonight.

Jaromir Jagr thinks the New Jersey Devils have put themselves in a position to do something special. While Jagr would obviously rather it didn't come to this, the Devils need to win almost all - if not all - of their final 10 games to make the playoffs. The flip side in his mind is that they've set themselves up for a potential storybook finish. "At least it's exciting," Jagr said. "That's the way I look at it. It would be something to remember. Something special." The Devils will play against Phoenix on Thursday.

Jaromir Jagr and the rest of the Devils were held off the scoresheet in a 2-0 shutout loss to the Rangers on Saturday. By failing to record a point in the game, Jagr has now been held scoreless in just two of his last nine contests, proving that even at his age the long season isn't wearing him down too much physically. Despite not scoring, the Czech veteran led the team with four shots on goal in the loss.

Jaromir Jagr scored the 1,000th professional goal of his career when you factor in NHL, KHL, Czech League and international play. Jagr has had a brilliant season, with 22 goals and 36 points, seemingly getting stronger as the season progresses with points in five straight. There is no reason to think this is going to slow down as the Devils fight for a playoff spot.

Jaromir Jagr's preference is to re-sign with the New Jersey Devils for the 2014-15 campaign. Jagr is 42 years old, but he has no desire to retire. Given that he has 20 goals and 55 points in 65 games this season, he should be able to secure a new NHL contract, either with the Devils or another squad.
