Jagr contributed a goal and an assist to Thursday's 6-1 demolition of the Hurricanes. His hot play for the Panthers continues, as Jagr now owns five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 16 games since coming to Florida. It was looking like his career was coming to an end while he was struggling to a half-point-per-game pace with New Jersey, but now that Jagr looks revitalized, it seems like he'll return once more next year as he takes aim at the No. 3 and No. 2 spots on the NHL's all-time scoring list.

Jagr potted a pair of goals -- one on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Senators. Jagr has been on a roll recently as he's now collected seven points (two goals) in his last six contests. The 43-year-old seems to be fitting in well with his new club as he's picked up 12 points and sports a plus-11 rating in 14 games since being acquired by the Panthers. While his production still remains down overall, the winger has been able to work his way on to the scoresheet consistently of late.

The Panthers are interested in re-signing Jagr, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, according to a report on NHL.com that cited the Miami Herald. Kitties' general manager Dale Tallon confirmed he met with Jagr's agent in Montreal before his team took on the Habs; both parties agreed to wait until the offseason to continue discussions. Jagr said as recently as Friday that he was excited by the team's young talent and predicted they would be contending for a Cup within two years.

Jagr scored the 718th goal of his career -- but just his 13th of the season -- and added an assist Thursday in a 3-1 win over Detroit. The goal untied him with the great Phil Esposito and sent Jagr into sole possession of fifth place on the all-time goals list. If he continues his career past this season, it's not impossible that he could pass fourth-place Marcel Dionne (731 goals) and third-place Brett Hull (741) before all's said and done, though at age 43, Jagr is clearly slowing down. That said, he does have seven points in nine games since joining the Panthers -- not bad for an old man.

Jagr didn't record a shot on goal, but handed out two assists and went plus-1 on Thursday against the Jets. After totaling just 29 points and a minus-10 rating in 57 games for the Devils this season, Jagr's responded since being traded by picking up five points and a plus-2 rating in his first five games as a Panther. It's hard to expect the NHL's oldest player to keep it up, though.

Updating a previous note, Jagr will be in the lineup Saturday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Jagr was considered questionable with the same illness that's passing through much of the Panthers' roster, but he's been given the green light shortly before Saturday's puck drop.

Jagr (illnesss) will not play Saturday against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. The veteran, who missed Thursday's game against the Stars, is one of the latest victims of the stomach flu making its way through the Panthers' locker room. He'll join Tomas Kopecky and Aaron Ekblad on the sideline Saturday.

Jagr (illness) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt with the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Jagr was scratched for Thursday's game against the Stars after falling victim to the stomach flu, a virus that has afflicted many in the Panthers' locker room of late. It seems as though the worst of the symptoms are behind him now, as he was able to take part in Saturday's morning skate. Jagr is generally expected to be cleared to play against the Islanders, but the Panthers will take a cautious approach and see how he progresses in the afternoon before making a declaration on his status one way or the other.

Jagr will miss Thursday's game against the Stars due to flu-like symptoms, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports. Jagr was a late scratch, joining defensemen Erik Gudbranson and Willie Mitchell, both of whom are also dealing with the flu. The Panthers have cancelled Friday's practice in hope of containing the spread of the illness.

Jagr registered a goal and an assist for his first two points with his new club in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Lightning. Jagr had been on his coldest spell of the season as he failed to get on the scoresheet in his last eight games with the Devils and in his debut with the Panthers. The 43-year-old should see an uptick in his offensive production as he joins a playoff contending team, but he's put up just 20 points in 59 contests thus far.
