This is McCann's second consecutive game with a goal and an assist, bringing him to four points on the year. The day after lining up on Florida's top-line, McCann has been demoted to AHL Springfield. The winger is currently bogged down in a 17-game goalless streak, but has garnered six helpers over that stretch. Certainly not top-line productivity, the move will probably leave fans and fantasy owners alike scratching their heads. It is possible that Aleksander Barkov (upper body) is close to returning, but more likely the team will recall McCann or another forward prior to Friday's matchup with Anaheim.

McCann is projected to skate on the top line in Tuesday's game against the Senators, Alain Poupart of NHL.com reports.

McCann will skate with Nick Bjugstad and Jaromir Jagr, so he's a nice sleeper for DFS players as well as those in deeper seasonal leagues allowing daily transactions. He has three assists over his past five games, and more helpers could be coming if he continues to skate with such talented linemates.

While McCann's development has been slow going --- the 24th overall pick from the 2014 draft only has 21 points in 86 NHL games, and he's had to adjust following a trade from Vancouver -- we're talking about a well-rounded playmaker with hockey smarts, so practice patience with him as he gains more NHL experience.
