Jamie Benn scored a goal and two assists in the Stars' 5-2 win over Washington Tuesday. With 18 points in 14 games, Benn has been fantastic this season stepping into the void left by the departed Brad Richards. Linemate Michael Ryder chipped in by contributing a pair of goals in this contest while Adam Burish and Eric Nystrom also lit the lamp in the victory.

Jamie Benn had a goal and three assists as Dallas beat Colorado 7-6 in overtime. What a wild and wacky game! Benn was simply unstoppable in this game as he helped contribute on four Dallas goals. Loui Eriksson played hero as he scored in overtime to clinch the win, his second goal of the game. Eric Nystrom, Alex Goligoski, Vernon Fiddler and Sheldon Souray all scored as well.

The Dallas Stars need to either take more shots on net or hold their opponents to less shots. At present the team allows on average 34.1 shots per game, 28th in the NHL. That has made goaltender Kari Lehtonen's job challenging. What makes matters worse is that the Stars average only 24.7 shots per game. The differential of 9.4 ranks them tied for 29th place in the league. So although it looks as if Dallas is one of the surprise teams in the NHL so far the fast start may be an illusion.

Jamie Benn scored a goal and registered an assist in the Stars' 3-2 win over Columbus Tuesday night. With five points in six games, Benn is satisfying the drafters who selected him with the expectation that he could reach 65-70 points this season. Michael Ryder and Steve Ott also tallied for Dallas in the victory.

With an assist in Saturday night's victory over Columbus, Jamie Benn recorded the 100th point of his career. Pretty impressive considering he has played in only 156 contests many of which were on the Stars' second line. Benn is a rising star. Regard him as a viable mid-round fantasy selection.

Benn enters the season as of the fantasy world's most-hyped sleepers after he finished last year on an absolute tear. With Brad Richards now patrolling the ice on Broadway, Benn appears ready for his close-up. Alex Goligoski also netted his first goal of the season in the win.

Jamie Benn (groin) participated in Dallas' practice on Monday. Benn will probably be able to play in the Stars' season opener. He could record 60-70 points this season after scoring 22 goals and 56 points in 69 games in 2010-11.
