The team has already been hit hard by injuries on Sunday with Mike Ribeiro being out until the All-Star break, but this loss might be worse because it really came out of nowhere. It wouldn't be surprising to see Benn end up on the injured reserve for a bit.

The power forward now has 24 points in 28 games. Trevor Daley's second goal of the year was the go-ahead goal in the second period, and he also assisted on Benn's.

The Stars are in a scoring slump which has led to five consecutive defeats. Dallas has scored only four goals in those five contests and Jamie Benn has registered only one point, an assist. Two weeks ago, Benn looked as good as any player in the league. Funny how a few bad games can change one's perspective. We still like the youngster's prospects of putting up a career season, however, we wish to temper the expectations of those who endorsed him as a 90-point player in 2011-12. It's a little too soon for that.

The 22 year old star is on pace for 91 points this season, further establishing himself as the teams franchise player. He has eligibility at both center and left wing, further increasing his value. The Stars have hit the jackpot with this fifth round pick in the 2007 draft.

Jamie Benn is on a six game scoring streak. The talented offensive player has three goals and 11 points on the streak and now has 18 points in 14 games. He should be owned in all formats of fantasy hockey with the exception of goalie or enforcer pools.
