The Dallas Stars need to either take more shots on net or hold their opponents to less shots.
At present the team allows on average 34.1 shots per game, 28th in the NHL. That has made goaltender Kari Lehtonen's job challenging. What makes matters worse is that the Stars average only 24.7 shots per game. The differential of 9.4 ranks them tied for 29th place in the league. So although it looks as if Dallas is one of the surprise teams in the NHL so far the fast start may be an illusion.
