Vrana recorded a goal and three shots during Saturday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Vrana's 11th goal of the season is his first since Dec. 14 and now gives him 21 points in 58 games in his first full season in the majors. It's worth noting that the 21-year-old winger has two points in his last two games since being promoted to the second line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie. The 13th overall pick from the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has been very streaky this season, but those in deeper formats might want to take a look at him so long as he can hang on to such a prominent role.

Vrana will be held out of the lineup Wednesday against the Flyers, Tarik El-Bashir of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vrana has struggled mightily in recent weeks with just three goals and six points in his last 23 games. Furthermore, the 21-year-old winger's ice time had been cut significantly in the last three games (averaging 7:57 per game) that afforded him only one shot on goal and a minus-1 rating during that span. The Capitals hope the night off will galvanize the talented Czech winger and get him out of the dry spell, but it's safe to say that he has failed to fulfill lofty (perhaps unrealistic) expectations before the start of the season. Vrana's fantasy value in standard formats is very shaky until he can carve out a more meaningful role again. Those in dynasty formats should recognize his long-term potential and stand pat.

Vrana was on the ice with the Capitals on Monday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
It appears Vrana's demotion was just a paper transaction in order to help with Washington's cap situation, as he was in attendance at practice. Fantasy owners can likely expect this to happen throughout the season considering the Capitals are hard up against the limit.

Vrana was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Sunday, per the AHL transactions page.
EDGE Analysis
While Vrana certainly has had his struggles this season -- even being designated as a healthy scratch earlier in the campaign -- it's somewhat surprising to see the Caps deciding him to send him down while he's currently riding a three-game point streak. That said, head coach Barry Trotz has most often criticized Vrana's play away from the puck, so that's likely what the team will want him to work on during his assignment. Vrana is a talented forward who's scored 10 goals and 15 points through 33 games and should be back with Washington at some point before the end of the season.

Vrana posted two shots on goal, one of them finding the back of the net, in the Capitals 5-3 win Thursday against the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old has now scored in back-to-back outings despite only seeing a little over 22 minutes of ice time in his last two games. He is usually slotted in the top-6 forwards for the Capitals, but he has been hard to trust in standard leagues lately, only posting five shots on goal in his last four games. Still, Vrana deserves to be owned in most leagues, and is in consideration in daily leagues as well.

Vrana potted two goals on five shots during Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday marked the first multi-goal game of Vrana's young career. The 21-year-old Czech national has already surpassed his points and games played totals from last season as he continues to earn a steady role with the Capitals. He is on pace for 37 points in his first full NHL season, making him only worthy of spot starts in advantageous matchups.

Vrana skated on the third line with Lars Eller and Tom Wilson during Thursday's practice, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Postt reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move isn't all surprising as the first-round pick from the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has gone cold since being placed on the second line, with only a single goal produced in the last 10 outings. The Czech winger could still move back into the top-six with Brett Connolly (upper body) and Andre Burakovsky (thumb) still on the mend, but he'll need to pick up the offensive production significantly for that to happen. It's worth noting that the third line with Lars Eller and Tom Wilson has been fairly productive of late, so this may not necessarily be a bad move for Vrana, but his fantasy value is quite volatile at the moment.

Vrana scored the Capitals' only goal in a 2-1 loss against the Flames on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The goal snapped a five-game pointless streak for Vrana, who has been inconsistent early this season. He has three goals and six points through 12 games, which overall isn't that bad, but the points have come in streaks. That makes Vrana an interesting streaming option for the Flames' next game Thursday, but until the young forward can show some consistency, fantasy owners can't count on him on a regular basis.

Vrana picked up an assist in Saturday's 6-1 rout over the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
The Czech winger also whiffed on a great setup depriving him of a chance to get his first NHL goal, but he's doing his best to put a pedestrian preseason behind him. The Caps need their first-round pick from the 2014 NHL Entry Draft to take the next step in his career if they are to replace the offensive void left by the departures of Marcus Johansson and Justin Williams, and so far Vrana has answered the call with three points and six shots in two games alongside Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov. He needs to be owned in all formats as long as he can keep his place on that line.

Vrana assisted on two of Alex Ovechkin's three goals in Thursday's season opener against Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
While skating on a line with Ovechkin has it's benefits, Vrana had a very strong game personally, firing five shots on goal and seeing time on the second power-play unit. The 21-year-old is one of Washington's top prospects and could finally land a top-six role this season. The sniper forward netted 19 goals in 49 AHL games last year and if he continues to skate alongside a player such as Ovechkin, he's certainly one to keep an eye on.
