Although there's been some inconsistency in the early going, it still looks like the 26-year-old is coming into his own as an NHL goalie, but he's going to have a hard time picking up many wins if the Canucks' skaters continue struggling to put up goals.

Markstrom was named the starting road goalie for Thursday's contest against the Senators, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.

This is the second game of a back-to-back set for the Canucks, with starter Ryan Miller allowing three goals to the Habs on Wednesday. Vancouver has been held scoreless in three out of the past four games -- two goals total -- which means Markstrom is a player to stay away from if your fantasy league has a heavy scoring weight on wins.

Markstrom gave up four goals on 34 shots in a 5-2 loss to the visiting Capitals on Saturday. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
